It's crazy that's a country as small as Uruguay has so many really good footballers. As a Yank I'd probably be rooting for them as an underdog if it wasn't for that detestable piece of crap Suarez. Instead I shall always hope they lose.Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Colombia are expected to qualify automatically
5th place playoffs spot up for grabs between Peru, Ecuador, Chile , and Paraguay
Awe, your words mean a lot. As a Colombian it is always gratifying to know that we can attract fans to our National team, which makes us so proud. In Colombia it is either football or cycling the sports that tend to bring our nation together as one. We are also as proud when players get to play in big historic clubs like Everton. However I must warn you that our National team can be as disappointing as Everton at times, just when we get our hopes up and think we are going to win something then they fail us. That has been our history. We certainly have amazing players right now so I'm hoping for the best but like every Evertonian knows hope can only take one so far.Never really cared for international footy, but I always had a soft spot for Colombia, with some of the players and the style of play I saw from the world cups. Then we signed first big Yezza, who seems a proper sound fella who gets what Everton means, and then the Colombian prince, Hamez, who is probably the most talented footballer I have seen wearing the Everton shirt, which has made my like them even more.
But the absolutely boss new Colombian fans we now have on this forum following Everton like @Sassy Colombian @UptheTofees and all the others guys, have firmly made me a proper Colombia fan - you have all been great and I just hope you stick with us even after Hamez and Yerry aren't around!
Arriba los cafeteros!
Arriba los caramelos!
Yeah to me, the best football nation in the world. So much top tier talent for such a small country. It's crazy that's a country as small as Uruguay has so many really good footballers. I thought you guys had a solid chance at winning that 2014 World Cup until Falcao went down. He was really close to the best striker in the world at that point iirc. A mate of mine and I were talking about it when we heard, such a shame that it happened when it did. Pretty much "ended" his career too. Then I guess you know best and hopefully will be rooting for us![]()

I cannot WAAAAAIT for the 2026 World Cup here in the States. I'm probably going to take off 2 weeks and just try to hit up as many games as possible.Yes. ACL at that age was pretty much a wrap for him.
Top professional and human being the guy. That world cup was so fun. I was deployed but watched every game.
Russia I was there for. Every Colombia game was a home game.

My city has the highest average cost of a pint in the nation. I went to the first International Champions Cup whatever it was called back about 7-8 years ago at Giants Stadium and it cost me $14 to have a Goose Island IPA. Yeah...it's gonna hurt lolYes although I feel that this wc will be more expensive than the international ones despite of the long traveling. Everything was so cheap in Russia. Food, beer. Uber's, etc.
Here, in our own backyard, gonna be pricey.

We also had great hopes. Falcao's injury was a big blow but because of it James ended up shining there, it was him who make it worth even if we didn't win it.
