Comedians - Rate & Hate

Anyone else love Jason Manford? His First World Problems tour was one of the best I've ever seen, I still regularly watch it back now. Was filmed in Liverpool as well!

Gigged with quite a few comedians on the cabaret circuit in previous decades.

Top of the lot was Norman Collier, with Ken Dodd a close second (wouldn't get off the stage - he was on until 1:30 in the morning - MC and Concert Sec were going ballistic; we just wanted to get our gear off stage and head home!).

Meh - most modern comedians, just not funny. If you're gonna tell stories, then look up the likes of Tom O'Connor (who was brilliant live!), Bob Monkhouse and Dave Allen - all masters of their craft.

I've made a bit of a bloomer on my picks here.

I said I hate all the scouse comedians. Whereas Tom O'Connor is one of the greatest I ever heard; a true craftsman.

Good call @Old Blue 2

Sean Lock RIP
Bill Bailey - genius
Micky Flanagan can be decent
Miles Jupp decent
Stewart Lee is clever and funny
Boyle - harsh but in the main incredible
Bridges - nicer but similar
Rock - used to be amazing
that Burr slap down is one of the hardest sells I've ever heard done. (not that I think he's much beyond a Leary minute upgrade) but still.

Favourite stand ups include Sarah Silverman, Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, James Acaster, Joe Wilkinson, Diane Morgan, Les Dawson and Sam Simmons.

Can't stand Michael McIntyre or Miranda Hart. Also can't understand how Little and Large and Jim Davidson were ever considered funny.

Would also add Eric Morecambe as possibly the funniest person ever to exist, not really a stand up though.

EDIT - Totally forgot Adam Buxton, nobody can make me laugh like him.

Loving the haircut matey. Time and fashion choices are rarely good bedfellows.
