Commercial Revenue

Seems a long time ago since we agreed the USM Finch Farm deal doesn’t it?

Since then it’s all dried up, we have re-agreed a terrible kit manufacturing deal in comparison to our rivals and there seems to be no new ideas.

Has anything really changed since Elstone left?

DBB pulling her weight? Or is it as we feared a Kenwright style in-house promotion?

Discuss;

Despite not finishing 7th, I still think we’re the 7th best team by some distance.

But look at the teams above us. United are the biggest side in the world, even though they’re currently rubbish, but built an empire based on their success, and completely warrant their kit deals.

Spurs have made a champions league final and appear in the biggest club competition on a regular basis, same goes for Liverpool and City.

They’re massive global brands, who can sell out stadiums round the world.

We aren’t. We’re a big name nationally, but on a global scale? We’re not any bigger than the Newcastle’s, West Ham’s etc...

Success isn’t built over night, it’s built over time, and I’ve said time and time again, that if we follow Tottenhams model, we’ll go far.

Build a core, build around it, get consistent in Europe, don’t spend loads on egos and the success will come.
I appreciate success is built on trophies, but Spurs were on level par with us and Villa 10 years ago, Villa went backwards, Spurs went forward and we’ve stayed the same... I’m confident we’ll kick on, but until we start appearing in the elite competitions (Europa, CL) our revenue won’t begin to grow.

But I’m confident in DBB, I’m confident in Brands and I’m confident in Silva making that happen.

Good post this.

She's done nothing because you haven't seen/heard it she's a CEO not everything is going to be public information, behind closed doors she could have done loads of things or absolutely nothing, We'll never know.
All businesses have commercially sensitive information they don’t want in the public domain

I see.

Difficult to critique when information isn't out there.

Let's look at kit sponsorship then, appreciate the below is a little dated now but onsidering West Ham had new stadium/London appeal, it looks about right to me?

How on earth is our sponsorship down there with the likes of West Ham and Crystal Palace?! We've never been out of the Premier League!

This just shows the truly shocking management we've had at boardroom level throughout the Premier League era. 5/6 of the best deals are our fellow ever-presents.

We haven’t won anything in 24 years, spent the majority of the 90’s fighting relegation, the majority of the 2000’s wheeling and dealing like Del Boy and somehow managing to stay in the top 6

It’s not something that appeals to the masses, especially those wanting to advertise on a global scale

It’s not like Tottenham, until about the last 10 or so years, have been much different, is it?

But how do you get there without increasing revenue so you can spend more money on wages to give us a chance?

Seems a vicious circle anyone who wasn’t already rich struggles to escape from...
The rules are rubbish and will hopefully be abolished sooner rather than later, what's the point of rules like that with the likes of PSG and City breaking the rules only to be hit with what would be equivalent of a 20p fine for us ordinary folk.

Are PSG and City even liked by UEFA?

I am saying no, they have their original G13 or whatever they were called and everyone else after that might as well be us

We'll find out the how much the kit deal is in the turnover results next year when we see the increase on the commercial revenues.

Not sure why the club is all hush hush on it.

If it was a big increase the club will leak it in the media, i'm guessing it's a slight increase of a 1-2 million a year.

We just don't have a big enough profile worldwide or shown that much on the field to have the likes of Nike & Adidas in a bidding war like they do with the "Big 6" in the PL.

“Our rivals”

Our rivals are not Man City, Man United, Liverpool or Arsenal who all have huge deals mate. Also if you want to spark a debate don’t begin with a gigantic sweeping statement with zero evidence, actually expand on what you’re trying to say.
