A lot of praise for the SSD, redesigned UI and the controller. Even if you're a purist PC gamer, the PS5 controller might be worth a look.

Read a review of the Xbox yesterday and the summary is pretty much, looks the same , controller feels the same and there isn't really anything at launch to demonstrate why you should buy it (no games to showcase it's better tech).

So playstation certainly has one up with a couple of exclusives and a controller

Is the new PlayStation controller that good? Xbox controllers have always had a much better feel to them imo.

It's getting good reviews. The feedback on the triggers is meant to be an actual good thing , how it works in practice no idea like. Meant to give resistance within the game which does sound interesting.

Whereas the Xbox one is the Xbox controller. Sounds like they haven't changed it up which is good because it didn't need changing.

I've always seen the Xbox controller better for shooters and playstation one better for sports games tbh.

But what are the chances of getting a series s before Christmas?

I know the demand will be on the power hungry ones but me and the wife were taking this morning and we may get my son one. Gives him a brand new console but he doesn't need the bells and whistle to go with it. Just to be able to play the latest games in the future.

Tbh all he cares about is updated fortnite anyway!

Made a start on Watch Dogs: Legion. Only played a couple of hours, but enjoying it so far.

Did you play Watch Dogs 2? I liked the first one and want to get Legion but not sure whether to play 2 first

I've played and finished all 3. They do get steadily better and the new "play as anyone" thing is an interesting concept. But it does get slightly annoying after a while as it isn't implemented very well. For example you might be half way through a mission and suddenly realise you need a gun or gadget that your current character doesn't have. So you have to start again as you can't swap mid mission (which is obviously more realistic but is frustrating). Not being able to carry more than one gadget at a time is stupid as well as all your characters has access to the same basic set of gadgets so it's not to do with the switching mechanism. Another thing I would say is that I've found Legion quite buggy. Nothing game breaking (well except for when it randomly shuts down) so might be worth waiting a bit.

My advice would be to play 2 first as you can probably pick it up pretty cheap now. Then when you get round to 3 it will hopefully have had quite a few patches and also might be cheaper too.

Haven't played either of the first two, mate - but they're sat there on the pile of shame. Thought I'd play this one now as I paid more or less full price for it, whereas I picked up the other two quite cheaply. I'm enjoying Legion so far - but only played 6/7 hours of it. But from my experience of it, you'd be fine skipping 2 for now and going straight to this.

Apparently being worked on a team of 'veteran developers', unlike the Andromeda which was outsourced to a bunch of rookie nobodies.
There's also a remaster trilogy for the first 3 games coming out next year I believe.

I actually enjoyed Andromeda tbh. Wasn't anywhere near as good as the original trilogy, mind, but not a bad game by any means.

If they can take the combat and exploration element of Andromeda and come up with a story/characters as good as the originals, then they'll have a winner.

Been giving Fallout 76 another shot and I've gotta say it's better now than it was (not that it takes much). Enjoying going around doing quests in co-op. Can imagine I'll be bored after a few days though, which suits me fine with the new Destiny 2 expansion being released on tomorrow.
