Computer games.

I am looking at getting into some genuine role playing games (ie not Fallout, Skyrim etc) Any recommendations, GOT gamer gang?

Age isn't an issue, I like playing older games. Currently looking at Planescape Torment, Divinity and Pillars of Eternity.

Bonus points for characters, story and immersive worlds, Sci Fi or fantasy.

Tried ‘Wasteland 3’ ?

Post apocalyptic isometric RPG in the style of the old 90’s Fallout games.

Kenshi is a novel but brutal game. Just started my first playthrough and its gone something like this:

Start out with a guy called Heft in a ruined town but check out the bar and see there's some randoms, the bar's Ninja guards and some mercenaries. One of the randoms claims to be quite the rum brewer and offers to be hired, but I have a nothing but a wooden stick to my name.
Leave the bar and the town and find some ore rocks and start digging away, slowing building up my 'labouring' stat, which the game describes the only way to improve it is to 'work hard', so work hard I shall.
The big rocks obscure my view and a band of hungry, barely clothed bandits come sprinting at me waving their wooden sticks. Before I can react they batter Heft's chest a couple times, so I quickly run back to town and into the bar.
The mercenaries and randoms don't give a damn and stay seated while this band of madmen follow me in and corner me. The Ninja guards do come down and start knocking them out but I've taken a serious beating to my chest and stomach, and fall to the floor unconscious. The guards take care of the bandits and throw their corpses out onto the street, and me with them.
My stomach starts to heal itself but my chest is in a bad state and I slip into a coma. I see a group of travellers come near and think I'm saved, yet they only loot my body and the bandits and leave.
The days go by, the corpses of the bandits start to rot, flies are gathering, my chest is getting worse and no good samaritans exist in this world. Heft dies on Day 3, 16:52. RIP Heft, botherer of rocks.

Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2 are definitely worth playing. Love OS2. Do play on a high difficulty though for the game to shine. Tactician is probably too hard for a new player but the one below that is what I played first time and was a good balance of challenge and fun. Can seamlessly play co-op too if you like that.
Pillars of Eternity I couldn't get into, too much focus on numbers like damage type vs armour resist etc.

Literally just noticed this second that Day of the Tentacle Remastered is available on Xbox Game Pass now (or it's a tenner if you want to buy it outright).

If you've never played this masterpiece before then do yourselves a favor.

And I believe it still includes the full version of Maniac Mansion found on the PC

Cracking games

Altho I've found lately that I don't enjoy point & click adventure games anymore
