If I recall, Nintendo ended up getting a fine for overcharging for games in the 90s.

I ended up trading my N64 and all games for a PS1. It had so many more games at the time, and they were a lot cheaper with only being discs etc.

it sort of put me off Nintendo after that. Not had anything of theirs since.

SNES, N64 games were pushing $80-85 in the US while the PS1 games were $40.

Well, they did do the stubborn Nintendo thing and stick with cartridges...manufacturing costs weren't comparable.

N64 was just a money pit. Not to mention after shelling out for a console you needed an expansion pack. Just a horrible system.

Nintendo are still a bit scummy with their pricing. They’ll release a remaster of a 13 year old game and charge full price as if it’s a AAA new game.

N64 games are going for crazy money now. Retro gaming in general has kind of blown up over the last few years.

I’ve got a Sega Megadrive stored away with about 25 games, one of which is going for ~£400 on eBay. Think I paid about £25 for the lot in around 2010 from Gamestation (RIP) Birkenhead.

This is fairly standard practice now. GTA V has been released at full price across 3 generations of consoles. Naughty Dog are releasing a remaster of TLOU 2 soon

I think I went from nes, SNES, game cube to PS1 potentially. Never had Nintendo again either. But dropped ps2 for Xbox 360.. Xbox ever since..

Finished Starfield. Run through twice after completion and now I'm bored with it. Glad I didn't actually pay for it.

Downloaded a few game pass games to keep me busy over Christmas.
