Computer games.

If you like MMOs, Throne and Liberty coming to global release first half of next year is promising, I've managed to get myself onto the Korean servers and trying it out and it's beautiful. It's a bit old school but has incorporated some action combat along with the classic tab target stuff. With any Korean game there's a cash shop but it's not over bearing and doesn't have anything exclusively pay to win in it.

Random post to say Steam is the biggest pile of **** software i've ever had the mistfortune to use and somehow has got even worse since the UI change.

It's ridiculous how long it takes to install anything, the download speed is fine but after downloading you have 'installing' and then 'verifying' both of which take forever regardless of how good your SSD is.

Ended up just downloading a pirated version because it takes 5 minutes to install rather than an entire hour.
Works perfectly fine for me. Takes minutes to install a big game.

Not the cpu struggling? Lots of mods aren't as well optimized as they could be. Side note you're a bad influence making me want to buy new stuff every time u pop up in here.
Possibly, as DayZ relies on single core speed, but to upgrade that it’s a new build realistically. My VRAM seems to max out on the more modded servers, which I think is the ‘issue’.

They’re great, though. I tried a Silent Hill style server and I may have screamed a little when chased by an 8ft mannequin which had the sprint speed of a gazelle.

Yeah, I really can’t afford to upgrade, but that won’t stop me thinking about it constantly. What a ridiculous hobby to have as a semi poor person.

I knew Xbox is super unpopular in Europe ( i never seen one in person) but seeing sales for last month, PS5 sold 950 000 and Xbox only 54 000 in Europe in November, not even Starfield or new Forza games helped them.

UK is only country on this continent where Xbox made its mark (but even there is sinking), everywhere else is PlayStation land
Funny thing is that that literally doesn't even really matter anymore. Live service models are what make the real £££'s these days and Microsoft's is thriving.

Thinking of getting a Steam Deck OLED - does anybody have one and know how easy it is to install mods (ie Witcher 3 texture packs/PES 2021 stadiums etc) for a PC novice like myself?

i got my Steam Deck OLED last week and I can't fault it so far. Not attempted to go down the mods route myself yet, I've mainly been focussing on the emulation side of things with EmuDeck. That said, there's loads of help out there, whether it's via Reddit or Youtube videos. Literally everything is covered if you search well. I mean ProtonDB is just one site that is highly recommended and there's all this information on The Witcher 3: https://www.protondb.com/app/292030?device=steamDeck

Someone very clever has made a mod that enables NVIDIAs frame generation technology on older Nvidia cards

This is huge. Up until now it’s been locked to their 4000 series GPUs. It gives huge increases in frames in games that support it.

Nvidia will lose sales because of this…

Cheers mate, appreciate that. Did you, or plan to, upgrade storage via SSD or SD card or have you found 512gb fine so far?

I just so happened to have bought one because I want to do emulating, and they recommend you store the files away from the Steam Deck's main hard drive.

I mean, if you're planning on using the Deck as a main gaming source, it can't hurt to have the extra storage. You won't need it if you're casual and play just a few titles a year, though.
