I think part of problem today was that he & Rooney were often trying to play in same position.

I also think generally our CM positions felt too cramped with him, Gana, Schneids, Rooney at times too close

I can see a player in him though, just think they'll need time to understand each other's positions

I agree. He was a bit loose today at times but he still showed good touches and workmanship. Getting an understanding with team mates will come with time and also being a yard quicker with fitness will help. Looks OK to me.
