[h=3]EVERTON insist Manchester United have NOT made an approach for manager David Moyes.[/h]
With Alex Ferguson announcing he will retire at the end of the season, Toffees boss Moyes is rumoured to be in pole position to succeed his fellow Scot.

But Paul Tyrell, the Merseyside club’s director of communications, said: “There has been no approach by Manchester United to Everton regarding manager David Moyes.

“The relationship is such between both clubs that any contact would be made officially through the club.
“David is still under contract at Everton and so any approach would be official.”

.....

If it is Moyes, could they not just say he'll take over at the end of the season when he is out of contract rather than all this talk of resigning etc.?

Still think it probably will be him but surely he wouldn't have to resign whereas Mourinho/most others would...

I agree their may be some outrage at the beginning but if we start off well it woukld soon be forgotton we have signed former playeras so what is the difference?

I agree mate but we had a Rafael thread a month back and the bile that was spewed has convinced me that there is nothing that Rafael could do to win the fan base at large over. Plus, it's not like he would be magnaminous if he got teh job. He'd stomp in thinking he's fantastic and that would just annoy the fan base more

Rafael is out due to his Liverpool links

Lennon is out due to the Sectarian elements of the fan base (And I'm really sad to say that I'm not exagerating)

Hughes is out cos he's rubbish

No, the bookies win, that's how it generally works - I think it's widely known as maths.....
exactly. they want to maximise their money and don't care about being right. the short odds now just reflect how much money is going on just because other people are putting money on, They closed down sites were people could just bet against money that was going on for silly reasons. I make Moyes about 10- 1. United is not just a club its a massive corporation that has to watch out how they are working in markets across the world. Moyes not only has no experience in any of this but no profile outside the country. If they were watching him and not just reading journalists that don't go to the game then they will be far too concerned about his ability under pressure.
