One positive to take from this is that it's happening now.

Imagine if this had gone on all summer, speculation continues over Moyes' contract and then Fergie announces his retirement 1 week before the new season starts.

No excuses from the board about having little time to draw up a shortlist of candidates to take over.

An interest in the next appointment Sheeds, i.e apppointing Moyes, but come on, out of principle Ferguson won't want to interfere in a manager's job and therefore undermine his authority and credibility.

I think Moyes has instilled enough belief in the players and the club that they'd be able to cope.
