He couldn't cut it against championship sides, he's yet to cut it against premier league sides... it's not nonsense at all.

Infact it's nonsense to assume he'll make it on the back of one pre-season friendly game against swindon.

Too early to be saying that he couldn't cut it against championship sides.

Neither could barkley when he was at Leeds or Sheffield United.

This is absolutely his make or break season. If he doesn't do a Kane (not score 30 goals but he has to score a good few), he's off. He's nearly 24. He stopped being a young prospect three years ago.

It was a pre season game and he did alright, just don't see the point in getting ahead of ourselves.

We will see how he does as pre-season and eventually the league goes on, and i'm open for him to prove me wrong.
I'm on par with you here. Hopefully yesterday is a sign of things to come this season, but I'm not banking on it as many others are on here.

Pre-season fixtures in general are almost impossible to asses how a team and individual players will eventually perform in the season.

If Conor is given the opportunity in other fixtures and then goes on to perform well than fantastic, however one game isn't enough of a sample.

Used his range well last night but hasn't got the same reach advantage on Aldo.

Edit: wrong thread

Because he's 23 and as a striker if he doesn't make it at this level by now, he never will.

Ian Wright.

Was 22 when he signed professional terms in 1985. Until then he was a semi-pro.

I'm not concerned at all since Connor has had a few injuries that has hindered his progress.

The problem with that argument though is that Wright is more likely to be the exception rather than the rule.

By that argument we may as well consider Connor as dead.

All players who aren't first team regulars are dead at age 23 from now on.
