Just saying, people were sounding off how the manager sees him every week and that's why he should be culled

All of a sudden the manager says he has a future and people aren't so willing to listen

Seems to me like trusting the manager is a selective process to some

You might even argue that it's a crutch they rely on when they want to make a point but ignore when it doesn't support their argument

Martinez says a lot of thing. He hasn't played him, that's the bigger proof.

I'm gonna say we'll sell him for circa £1m to a Championship team in January. Which is fair enough, good business by us and a good career move for him. Think he'll impress on loan at Charlton which will attract interest from a few clubs

Thereby giving us back the headache of finding a long term replacement for Leighton, barely half a season after pulling out the stops to get him to sign a new long term deal?

I don't think so mate.

Are you sure you're in the right thread mate?

This reminds me of when i had to defend Martinez to two blokes at Swindon who were convinced he was ruining Garbutt's career by making him play right wing.

Both got bad haircuts like.

It is hard to see how he could have a future at Everton.
He started preseason very well and by the end was hardly involved at all.
It is probably a difficult call to make. He is a good player and could easily make a premiership player yet , but he is at an age where he needs to be playing every week and at an age where he needs to be making an impact.

I think he will be gone for good before the end of the season.

Didn't seem interested in putting a shift in for the U21's either, strutting about like he was better than that.

I don't understand lads like that, great opportunity to earn fabulous amounts of money playing footie yet (seemingly) not prepared to bust a gut to 'get there'.

Having been in a similar position at 17 and generally acted like a [Poor language removed] when ruining that oportunity it gauls me when I see this.Think I had a similarly dodgy haircut too.
