Just saying, people were sounding off how the manager sees him every week and that's why he should be culled

All of a sudden the manager says he has a future and people aren't so willing to listen

Seems to me like trusting the manager is a selective process to some

You might even argue that it's a crutch they rely on when they want to make a point but ignore when it doesn't support their argument

It is hard to see how he could have a future at Everton.
He started preseason very well and by the end was hardly involved at all.
It is probably a difficult call to make. He is a good player and could easily make a premiership player yet , but he is at an age where he needs to be playing every week and at an age where he needs to be making an impact.

I think he will be gone for good before the end of the season.

He got injured during pre-season. The fact he's been shipped out on loan again though suggests that he might not have a long term future at Everton, especially since we apparently missed out on attacking players during the window and yet there's still no space for him in the team.

Played 2 matches for the first team ages ago, the first one when Moyes seemed to sub him on as a "see what options I can afford, its not my fault we're crap"

Two career goals

Older than Lukaku

Good luck to him, but he won't be playing in the Everton first team. ever.

Sometimes it takes people longer to mature, although there has to be a cut-off at some point. Is he the oldest non-first teamer?

Besides Aiden obv.

For the wages we'll be paying him there's no reason not to keep him on the books. He seems to have the right attitude and doesn't look a million miles away from a premiership player, so if he becomes a good squad player ala Osman at age 24/25 then fine, if not we'll get a million or two for him.

This is pleasing news

There you go lads, Martinez thinks he has a future here

Let's support him from now on, as opposed to calling for him to be culled, eh?

Mikey, you seriously think that we will loan a player out whilst saying 'oh btw you have no future at Everton'?

Martinez has previously stated that they will do whats best for the younger players and develop them in a proper way so they will have the maximum chance of the best career they can. Part of that is not just sticking kids you think won't make it to rot in the Under 21's but to try to improve them and give them a way to develop for their career not just the benefit of Everton

Or do you seriously think when we loaned Duffy out that Martinez had even 1% of his thoughts being that he wanted to bring him through to the first team and eventually replace say Jags?

The manager is not exactly going to say he's got no future here while he's still our player is he?

...recent managers and coaches must have seen a talent otherwise he wouldn't have been given contracts. It's increasingly difficult imagining he has a future with us, I suspect the club felt he was worth something in the transfer market and didn't want him to leave for nothing.

Galloway and Browning - not loaned this season
Mcanotgoodenough - out on loan despite being older than half the first team squad

I think this all going the way of the Duffy
