We haven’t forgotten mate! Everyone is looking to get out of the groups and hope we get lucky after that. Check the history this is very consistent.

You should be grateful that you got out of the groups at the last World Cup. Old Gregg deserves more respect, no manager has done better than him in the last 20 years. The national sport in the USA isn’t football so what’s he supposed to do really?

every time I watch McKinnie he just looks meh.

Guys we could afford that would work here.

Sargent - as on off the bench CF I think he can nick a few.

Weah - can help out at RW/RB

He was gassed after 60 minutes. A lot of sprinting, he should have been taken off.

The only player in the group that is good enough and fits the way Dyche plays is Adams.

In terms of talent, the obvious are Pulisic and Reyna, then Robinson and perhaps Musah. Pepi has a chance but needs more game time at club level.

I'm not a huge fan of Weah. I appreciate his direct play but far too often there's no end product. The team operated better with Pulisic on the right and Reyna on the left.

He doesn't have a single impressive win on his resume. A bunch of cruise ship ports and the worst Mexican generation of players in decades.

This is the most talented team we've ever had, especially in attack and in midfield. 26 guys who all play at clubs we've heard of. It's a massive underachievement.

He kept the job the same as Klinnsmann did before him.

Funny you should mention that…

He's been to a Euros final.

Nothing Gregggg has done has even come close. Stacking up wins against Hurricane Alley isn't as impressive as what Arena and Bradley did with far less talent.

Or you could scratch the surface and see he beat a lot of very average teams in front of a home crowd (then lost on pens to one after being a goal up and having 1 shot in 120 minutes). Either one works.

Give your Gregory a squad of the quality of England’s and cannon fodder opponents and then it’s a fair comparison.

If he’d been given Ukraine, Sweden, Slovakia or Senegal in the knockout rounds he might’ve even done better.
Well you see he just lost to Panama.

The Slovakia game, dumb as it was, was also a game that England once again found a way to win. The team has the mental fortitude to figure those types of matches out at big tournaments.

Yes, because we happen to have a generational talent who can pull something like that out of the bag. Absolutely nothing to do with anything the manager did. We didn’t “figure” anything out, a world class player scored an overhead kick with the last kick of the game. Everybody else on the pitch was absolutely clueless and bamboozled as to what we were supposed to be doing to break them down.

Give your Gregg the gift of a player of Bellingham’s quality, then it’s a fair comparison.

The US scored a world class goal against Panama and then lost.

England are in an unprecedented run of consistency in tournaments and apparently the manager isn’t a factor in that at all.

The US is…. not doing that so after a poor showing it is fair to take stock of whether management could be better.

The US have no world class players. It would help this Gregg v Gareth debate if he was given several of them to make it fair.

No, the manager isn’t a factor. But if you just looked at a piece of paper or a phone screen that says some numbers on it, then you might believe he. But if you bothered to take the time to ever watch the team play football, or even scrutinise previous results and tournament draws a little bit, then you might educate yourself.

I said might

There's no need to compare Gregg to Southgate when Gregg doesn't match up against Bruce freaking Arena and Brad Bobbley.
