Corruption in premier League

Player Valuation: £500k
Looking at refs decisions over last 10 yrs or so. We all know refs give top 6 teams more decisions than teams at the bottom of League, it appears to me they seem to give the star players in this teams benefit of the doubt when comes to big decisions like diving in the box giving penalties , not sending off players. Only 2 players ever suspended for diving one was an Everton player i think more than 2 players dived in premier league none from top 6. This supports the brand of promoting Premier league and star players in it which in turn brings in more millions to Premier league by way of overseas tv deals , Jersey deals etc. Perhaps this is organised at a higher level than a ref don't want to give a call against a star player. I have no proof Premier league are behind this but wudnt surprise me. Any thoughts

A very good point , but the only way around it for us is to get in the top 6.

Its scripted for branding reasons. Armchair sales rely on the same safe household names being there every year - just like how all the favourite wrestlers always won wwf. Sky pull the strings with their billions. Its entertainment now not sport.
if it was scripted the biggest club would win the league more often but they haven’t since 2013 so I doubt they’re in on any storyboarding.

Its not just about the obvious biggest club winning it, its about creating drama to sell. And last season what better drama at the bottom end of the table than having a long established club circling the drop after a series of very dodgy refereeing and var decisions.

Itd be a bit strange and unlikely to, say, not involve Real and Barca is a scripted La Liga (and wouldn’t happen). City winning it four out of five (while I’m made up with it as are most Blues) has hardly been great for the league. Any chance of another ”scripted” Leicester any time soon?

Also Everton we’re given 7 penalties last season, more than most teams including g some of the big six and only one less than the RS, despite having one of the most inept attacks in the country and spending hardly any time in the opponent’s box, so at least that bit of the script helped.

I notice that our opponents Palace have had an extra day's rest after their midweek fixture compared with us ... just to help keep us repressed. Our midweek opponents, newly wealthy Newcastle however, have gotten themselves an extra day's rest. Money or connections talk in England.

We had an extra days rest over Newcastle this week when we played them, so you’ve not really thought that one through,

Having created the drama of the drop, our injury record created the perfect storm meaning we very nearly did go down - and I don't think Sky's show REALLY wanted to lose one of their biggest cannon fodder brands - so, unusually, penalties happened for us .. unlike most seasons.

Jusy perhaps Leicester was a scripted drama to "prove" it wasn't all about the big brands. Maybe it went too far and they were never really meant to win it but got confidence and momentum. Either way ... Will it happen again? No need - sky have proved its not a script!
