It has it's faults but I do love England.

A time not so long ago I was in a position where I thought I'd never see it again and believe me I would have given anything to be standing in a queue sipping tea in the rain again.

It's easy to point out historical and current day faults but largely it is a wonderful country with so many qualities that people take for granted.

By luck of birth many of us have been born in a country that is largely safe, peaceful with beauty and culture which in comparison to many countries is accepting of people's race, gender, culture, sexual identity and more.

England's great strength in a way is it's ability to absorb other cultures into it's own. Look at the food for example and how many different varieties are commonplace in an average person's diet these days. Compare that to say France or Italy where they are very much enshrined in their own traditional ways.

Everyone doesn't have to like everything about the country, I don't myself. But it's easy to point out the bad if that's all you're looking for.

Far to sensible a post this.

The only nation that calls nation-locked and locally-based tournaments "world cups/trophies/series". Mind boggling.

Like winning a local 5-a-side tournament and proclaiming yourself World Champion lol

It's why Canada is superior.

England's alright. People are mostly okay, government is weird, obsessed with queues and tea, memes are alright. 5/10.
It isn't our fault everyone else is scared to compete. Step up or step off.

Just think of the amazing classical composers, England has given us.

Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Delius, Malcolm Arnold, and Benjamin Britten, +loads more.

Ignore the crap weather, industrial decay, and whippet racing.

Thank God we live in Liverpool, a Celtic island, in a sea of black pudding.
