If people ever want to find out how humanity would deal with an alien invasion, they should study how the Mexica responded to Cortes arriving in their country.

Pathos, immense bravery from nearly the entire population, self-serving leaders who sold their own people out, idiocy, countries squabbling amongst themselves, missed opportunities and ultimately a wretched defeat.
