Think Ben Stokes has only signed a one year deal? Agree re the three year deals for the over 30’s, they should be reviewed on an annual basis - too many things can go wrong over a three year deal, injury, loss of form etc!

A lot is hindsight but we packed the squad with filler players. Roy or someone else should have probably opened with Bairstow with Malan at 3. Our openers are what made us successful.
This looks like the end of a lot of careers for the 1 dayers.

Win the powerplays and you usually win the game. In 2019 we had Roy and Bairstow flying out the blocks and Woakes and Archer taking wickets.

Bit of a rethink needed. but if this is the end of an era its the finest era of white ball cricket England have ever produced.

What is the situation regarding central contracts for the England players? Who is on 3 year deals and who is on shorter? It would be good to hear some discussion around this. Also, England is not out of it yet are they? Win their remaining games handsomely, and we could see an India vs England semi. THAT is the game the world wants to see...two champion teams who enjoy a Kop-like fanaticism from their respective fan base.
