Cricket

I wonder if he'll play for Lancashire for the rest of the season ?

Meanwhile Lancashire bowled out for 331. Notts, 47-1, a wicket in his comeback for Mahmood.

There's some amazing personal stats in here :

Lunch, Notts 64-2.
We are very lucky that the best cricketer in England values test cricket and is trying to keep it popular, it might keep it at the top for another generation but after that who knows. Times have changed and we wont ever see another Jimmy, soak up that last test, just gutted its at the bland tory bowl of Lords with a pack sleepy fruit salads to see him off

Pity he won't be playing his last test at Old Trafford. I wonder if he was given the option ?

Notts 231-5, 100 behind. Hameed, of course, 122 n.o. Lancashire again failing to break through the middle order, they were 104-4, and 191-5.

Still a bit of a surprise to me that he's been tapped on the shoulder to retire, I think you pick your best players regardless when it comes to test match cricket, you don't blood players in at that level, you pick every team to win and Jimmy imo would still be one of the first names on the teamsheet. I don't agree with age being a reason to retire unless you're Ashley Young. If you've got it, you've got it.
