I wonder if the traditional banks would ever create or use a block chain based system. I think that’s the way it will go.

All of this is maybe just a pre cursor to new forms of monetary transactions.

Please no, the banks can't even work with real life money.

Ripple is connected to the banks!
Yet they have plummeted too but are well cheaper than Bitcoin really low ATM!

Ripple plummeted because it was everything the community didn't want a cryptocurrency to be. It's not decentralized, it's run by rich people and banks (just like FIAT currency) and it suffered as a result. Then the dip hit and it suffered even more.

I wouldn't even entertain the idea of investing in Ripple right now. If you're wanting to invest in an Altcoin during the dip, I'd be hitting up one of the ones with a strong plan, strong community, and strong interest. Right now, for me the front runners are NEO and VEN, closely followed by XLM and REQ.

NEO and VEN have higher interest at the moment, and they resisted the dip better than other coins. REQ and XLM are very solid projects imo, they just didn't hold as well due to lower interest in them.

Disclaimer: I'm invested in XLM, REQ, and VEN. I dont have NEO though.

Do we think the demand for this multitude of newer cryptocurrencies will outpace the number of people creating them eyeing the next get rich quick scheme?

These are all years behind Bitcoin in brand awareness and marketplace acceptance and show the speculation for what it is.

It's a risk business in any - my son bought very low in Ripple like any other crypto currency it's a gamble he has not bought that many just tested the water if he loses it's not the end of the world for him, it's like a gamble on the horses or stock market!
Only spend what you can afford to lose!
I personally would not touch them, When the underworld are being chased as Bitcoin users the bubble will burst in the spring when the immunity of identity is removed!

Aye, invest what you’re willing to lose!

The underworld has already stopped using bitcoin and used monero, which is currently, truly anonymous.

"Sell down to sleeping point."
