I mentioned in this thread earlier today that i was worried how lightly some of our fans seemed to be taking these. We're Everton, we don't do easy away games

McCarthy looks like he's very short on ideas whenever he gets the ball, you can see him looking for the incisive pass but every time he just turns round and passes it backwards or sideways.

Sometimes maybe, but you won't see him go missing or tiring in the second half. He needs Barkley in front of him not the invisible midget.

I am totally puzzled why RM selects the same first half team as last week which looked poor and have continued to look poor v the worst team in the prem??? we look awful missing Barkley linking with Lukaku - Osman is too slow KM look disinterested!

Definitely agree. He looks..turns, looks, passes sideways. Also the longer Lukaku goes with wasting possession into his feet the less appealing this option becomes to the two mids. Lukaku is class in and around the box but has a lot to learn about the rest of the game.

Would like an actual attacking sub for a change..
Not the usual like for like: Mirallas for Deulofeu, Barkley for Osman, Lukaku for Jelavic

Lets take off Barry or McCarthy and bring on Barkley or Jelavic for one of them, actually change formation to something a little more attacking instead of just finishing the same with fresher legs as we normally do.

That being said I think the amount of defensive work CP have got through, they will find anything we do next half really hard to cope with.

This is a terrible idea, McCarthy and Barry have won us possession several times, creating attacking opportunities is more important. It's no good having another attacking player if we don't create opportunities. And McCarthy has been good about getting forward anyways, plus Barry does very well to cover for Baines and let him get forward when we're transitioning into attack (before Distin can move there to provide cover)

I agree about the last thing you said though, their defenders can't keep up this pressure for another half, I think (hope!) things will open up second half.

Because they had a really poor half but he knew they weren't as bad as that. They don't look as poor today I think. They are varying the attacking approach a lot but the accuracy is way off.
