McCarthy was playing in advance of Barry most of the game.

Nevertheless, our attacking outlet should be getting in and around them all day.

Yes two sitters! That's exactly what they are. They offer zero creativity. I'm not convinced by the partnership anyway. Lukaku has just looked as bad as Jelavic in the past two games.

Martinez needs to lay into Kev and tell him to sort himself out. We all know he could be a massive part of a good season, he just looks disinterested.

Lukaku
Pienaar Barkley Mirallas
Barry McCarthy
Baines Jags Distin Coleman
Howard

Has to be the team from now on. Osman is not good enough. Mirallas needs to get taken out if he carries on. Barkley, Pienaar, Mirallas and Lukaku have to work together a lot more. McCarthy and Barry need to be quicker at building attacks. Baines and Coleman need a good bollocking.
Jags needs to sort himself out.

I'm still not convinced by Deulefeu. I can't figure out what seems to be his preferred position. He doesn't look to cross the ball often and when he gets the ball he looks tentative until deciding to run at the defense at which point he's starting flat footed and the defense is ready for him.

He's got the talent but he's so young. So expect moments of genius followed by a lot of ordinary stuff. I'm happy we've got him, definitely provides something different.

I actually think we'll do Liverpool in the Derby.

No chance mate.

Obviously the Internet heroes on here will have you believe Jagielka is the best CB in the country and will have Suarez in his pocket, but realistically they'll create loads of chances themselves, we'll gift them a few chances, and they'll ultimately score a few. We all know Martinez will start Osman (with the excuse of you need local lads in these games), so that's a major disadvantage from the start.

I can see a two or three nil on the cards.

its fumesville on here tonight and rightly so, that was awful, starting with osman again, jesus! We need center halves who can pass if we are going to play this way, barry perhaps should have developed his right foot a little in a 13 year pro career, makes him so easy to read, macarthy played like he was terrified of a yellow, that team will probably start in the derby and we will get dicked everywhere

No he doesn't, they're all off playing poxy internationals. He'll have about three days with them.

And we dont have quality in depth the manager can turn to. Not a bit of it. We need investment for that.

Two weeks. Internationals or not, he'll have some time with them. Not that he should have needed more than 15 mins today like. Still amazing reading Palace's team sheet from today. Alehouse side.

We have easily as much depth as the sh*te. We also haven't suffered from injuries this year as of yet. Our only long-term lay-offs are squad players who were way off form as well, incidentally, anyway. The first team has been out several times this year already. We've probably had our first team out more this year than in the whole of last year, comfortably. The issue is not squad size at this point.

In the wake of such a disappointing draw, it's difficult to see how. We also seem to have developed a tendency to leave ourselves wide open at the back. They may be utter ****s, but their forwards won't waste the chances we hand over to them if we carry on like that.

not sure what people are moaning about the whole "2 sitters" thing for, i'd say a large number of the best teams around the world play the 4-2-3-1 formation which requires two sitters to hold and keep it simple and allow the players ahead of them to create chances. the problem for me isn't our centre midfielders its the players ahead of them such as mirallas, pienaar, osman, barkley etc who are all of which out of form and aren't creating anywhere near enough opportunities for rom.

The thing is, going forward, we had a nice little productive triangle going there with Barkley/Mirallas/Lukaku; that was tinkered with for whatever reason.
