Palce are a premier league side. If that performance was against somene like West Brom or similar it would of be classed as unlucky. We have a problem with our fanbase who expect anyone lower half of the table to be easy pickings. Peeps need to get real and should know any game is going to be tough.

Even when we play at home against a lower half team the atmosphere is flat because people sit back and expect us to tonk them yet it never happens. If we score against similar teams its like polite applause as if we have been reigning champions for the last 10 years. Get real Everton fans we are not a top team so don't expect victories every time we play.

If we actually wanted it then we should have breezed that game, it really as simple as that. I expect to win games like that because man for man we are easily better than Palace. I know there should be no easy games but if we have any ambition then we should be expecting to win games against a side that have lost 7 games in a row by 2 goals or more.

We do. There's absolutely no question at all of it. We have them and we also have numbers for the first time ever. Nearly ALL of them are playing like c*nts.

Manager's fault. We'll learn a lot about Roberto in the derby this year. He has an international break to get into them and sort them out.

No he doesn't, they're all off playing poxy internationals. He'll have about three days with them.

And we dont have quality in depth the manager can turn to. Not a bit of it. We need investment for that.

Non blue-tinted specs ratings. Neg rep away bullies.

Howard - 8 - Made one great save and aside from untroubled.
-
Coleman - 6 - Boring game. Defensively OK, but shocking decisions in the final third and terrible crossed.
Jagielka - 5 - Some typical **** passing, tried to gift Palace a goal and general sloppy play as has been the case for weeks.
Distin - 7 - Decent game by Disty, as usual.
Baines - 6 - Awful set pieces all game, crossing woeful, looked a shadow of the player we know and love. Head turned?
-
Mirallas - 5 - Has been awful this season and was poor again today, rightfully subbed off.
Osman - 6 - Didn't do anything pathetically wrong as he usually does, but just isn't very good.
McCarthy - 6 - Average game, was very annoying towards the end tiki-taka in the 94th minute when in perfect position to cross.
Barry - 7 - Solid game and probably our best player.
Pienaar - 6 - Off form, the Baines partnership isn't working and to me doesn't look fit.
-
Lukaku - 6 - Barely had a kick all game. If we aren't gonna bother crossing to him or put it into his feet he might as well stay at home.

SUBS:
Barkley - 7 - World's apart from Osman in terms of talent and fitness, but didn't really have a big impact on the game.
Deulofeu - 5 - Thought he was poor tbh.

...your ratings are pretty good. Howard man of the match ...for that one save

F*cking hell. Jarg ultras with flags and shirtless fat beauts celebrating a 0-0. Embarrassing.

Anyway, utter, utter sh*te yet again, Everton. Can't remember a game this season off the top of my head where we weren't poor or bang average for a sustained period.

Not going to try and predict the derby, but I am extremely grateful we have a break to sort these lads' heads out and get them working together again. Top class group of players playing like f*cking amateurs atm, bar the defence.

Massive pressure on the derby. Huge pressure that we could have f*cking done without.

Ultras with flags and shirtless fat beauts..... created a great atmosphere for em. Better than our efforts at home. You can hear a pin drop sometimes well inbetween a half effort of " if you know your history its enough to make your heart go ohoh...... I stopped there cause its where we stop singing most of the time. Bring some of those boys up to the terrace and we might have a laugh. Crap result tho

Osman, Mccarthy and Barry are the three that play centrally and not one of them is a forward bursting player with a bit of pace. Pienaar is Pienaar and Mirallas needs to do a lot more. One of Deulofeu and Barkley need to start or drop Osman and play Naismith or Jelavic to support Lukaku like Barkley did.

A 5 man midfield out of which no one links up with Lukaku won't help.

Great post mate.

It's depressing looking at our midfield with Barry - McCarthy - Osman at the heart of it. It just sends out completely the wrong message, Moyes-esque if you will, that we're not arsed about winning the game and will happily take a point.

woeful? jesus christ. barkley should have started ahead of barkley, although osman actually looked more likely scoring of the two.

that's the only wrong choice. what would you have done? started jelavic ahead of lukaku, put jagielka in goal, brought stones in, gone 5 at the back and naismith on the wing?

Lukaku has looked no more likely scoring than Jelavic in the last 2 games. I'm sure we were picking up points with Naismith in the side aswell.

Terrible today but 20 from 11 is very good for any managers first games at a new club.

Agreed, but on closer inspection we've not been at all as convincing as the teams around us.

The telling thing is that despite the fact we've switched right off in many games this year and have still won the majority. Speaks volumes about the quality we have at our disposal. We couldn't even rely on that today. We should be doing better and RM has said this numerous times throughout the season.

Jags also did some great passes worthy of a midfielder today, also hit the cross bar in our best attack of the game. Kept a clean sheet. Better than a 5 for me.

Surprised Naismith never got a run out, he gets himself in some very good positions drawing defenders away from Lakaku, who today was well shackled by the Palace defence.
We will have to play a lot better against the RS,perform anything like we did today then i fear the worst.

Prefer to credit Palace with some excellent defensive work rather than be overly critical of our efforts. We weren't great but that has usually been enough to sneak past Palace (only hammered once this season I think). Football games aren't always going to be easy and, chiefly thanks to Palace's excellent efforts we were kept out of range.

On a side note top marks for the ref for a good game and for not pulling a card out on James McCarthy for that last second tackle (just about our only bad one all game).

Mirallas was piss poor today, WTF was that pass that could have easily played Lukaku in on goal? But no, he totally spazzes it like an utter fukin mong!

"in on goal"??? Lukaku was making a diagonal run out wide and Kev over-hit the pass. Had he not, Lukaku would have had the ball on the wing. Not exactly "in on goal", is it?

I distinctly remember in the first half Mirallas cut inside from the wing and had a really good shot at the near post. Honestly, one of the few decent chances we had all day.

Bad result thought it would pick up after the spurs game but it was just the same. Let's hope this is our bad patch and after the break we go into the derby playing like we can. We are clearly missing top winger and an attacking mid for when Barkley is missing and someone who can drive forward from centre mid. We should try Barkley next to McCarthy as he likes to dribble and push forward with a proper attacking mid in the hole who can play throught balls. Lots of investment needed in the next window

Bad day today, yes, but to put a positive spin on it, we're 5th in November. I'd have taken that as a 'so far' back in July.

Not good enough today, but overall, we doing ok considering things.

We could be 8th tomorrow if results go against us, like. But yeah I think we've been in a relegation fight at this point in 3 of the last 6 seasons, this is much better. We kick on when Martinez' finds his feet and we'll be fine. I think the fact our next three games are against big teams could count in our favour, too. We do better with our backs against the wall.
