This must spell the end for the FOSW. No manager survives this run of form/results. Chelsea and Leicester next, OMG at what point does Moshiri panic?
You can't keep changing the manager. Look at the goals we conceded today. The players are making absolutely basic errors yet the manager takes the flack

There are lots of errors because we cant keep the ball and are under constant pressure. That is mainly because the tactics are to sit off and be passive. Players need to take responsibility, but teams who make lots of defensive errors are usually poorly coached and poorly organised.

The manager takes responsibility for conceding too many goals. Our set plays this season at both ends have been a disgrace. What is the manager actually doing at finch Farm?

What could the manager do about the first and third goals today though?. I'm not saying he is at all faultless. I just don't think another change will make any difference.

Bad defending falls on the manager. If players are making regular errors it means they are not well enough drilled or not good enough. In this case I think its both.

Another change will improve things gradually. But nothing starts to improve until we make the change. The current environment is horrible and will never work.

Bad defending is AT LEAST 50% the fault of the player, because defending is a fundamental part of playing.

The larger portion of this squad has failed under multiple managers, this proving that changing managers is not a solution. But I suppose there's far less thinking required if you just bleat about the manager.

I've literally said above i believe its both players not being good enough and poor organisation

I've seen these players defend better however. Thats why I blame the management in part. Set pieces defending is 100% on the management. There is no excuse for being this bad.

Weirdly enough I can believe the players are poor and that the manager is utterly useless and completely the wrong man.

The tactical defensive genius of Benny can't even bore us to death with nil draws.

Poor set piece defending is at least 50% down to the players. It's not like they all leave the pitch prior to a corner and Dunc, Benitez and the rest of the coaching staff take their places.

The question is not "was the manager the wrong choice?". The question is "Do we gain anything by booting him out now?", and the answer is no.

Give him the whole season: if we stay up, replace him with a better option (if one is available) when June rolls around. If we go down, replace him with a better option when June rolls around.

The answer for me is a clear yes. The club is absolutely toxic at the minute and its draining on everyone. We have fans extremely disillusioned and players being frozen out. Its our worst form in 22 years.

The answer is an emphatic yes. If we give benitez more time then we are going to be heading towards relegation in the next year or 2.

This is never going to work so dragging it out is irrational. The idea there aren't better options is ludicrous as well. We are underachieving enormously on last year.

You're absolving the players of any responsibility for the mess we're in. If you do that, then you will be sadly disappointed when they aren't magically better players simply because a new manager arrives.

The ONLY reason to boot a manager out is always "There is someone better who is currently available and wants the job". However we are in no position to pay compensation to another club if we poach a manager, so who from the ranks of the currently unemployed do you suggest?

I blame players and manager. Both.

I've wanted lampard and consistently wanted him.

We'll agree to disagree on Lampard. To my mind he was a complete failure with a star-studded squad, so there is no way in hell he has the skill to manage a demonstrably poorer-quality squad in the same division with no money to spend.

Graham Potter (BHA) makes far more sense - he's overachieving with a pretty pedestrian squad.

I would definitely prefer Potter but don't see him as realistic. Not mid season at least.

I think players get 70% of the blame today. Three man midfield was played, and we still looked outnumbered in the mid. We gifted all 3 goals to Crystal Palace. We made Crystal Palace look too good.

The remaining 30% is on Benitez. Tactics and substitution aside. To me, his biggest failure was to not being able to motivate the players to maintain the intensity week in, week out (or least in games like this - not bad team, but a team that has a 3 games losing streak).
