We just have to get to 40 pts as quick as possible, I refuse to put this all on Benitez, I never despised another manager more than I did when he was at the reds but if we are putting this all on him then we refuse to see the big picture. I've seen mentions of how we looked better under Carlo after 15 games last year, are we forgetting how bad we looked even when winning games, I could count 7 or 8 one goal wins that we stunk the place out. Losing at home to Sheffield United was up there as the worst ever, clueless going forward.

Brands,Koeman,Walsh, Allardyce,Silva and bad decisions by the board have put us in this position, I've read opinions about Digne, Richarlison and Allan all disagreeing with the manager, well they have all under performed for a variety of managers recently and maybe they don't like being told a few harsh truths. We are a fickle bunch, an a very frustrated fan base, we go from extreme highs to extreme lows. We have virtually zero stability, and that's what's needed now, not changing the manager again for the sake of it. We have a group of players all bought by various managers and 2 DOF, they are a mix and match types that will take along time to shift or gel together. One thing we can do better is the basics, set pieces for one is costing us points. We have another beating coming Thursday night, make no mistake about it. It's the games after that and the new year we need to really get behind the manager and team.

Shocking performance. No patterns of play, no plan of attack, didn't look like we had done any research into the opposition at all and were just banking on out running and headering and winning second balls.

Bizarre that we took Richarlison off as if he was playing poorly. Tactics left him isolated; we never got the ball in areas where he could hurt the opposition. Two man midfield again is bonkers given that their most creative/dangerous player is in there. Suffocate Gallagher and Palace are half the team. Far too easy for them to play into Ayew and Edouard and get runners off them.

Don't care if we 'stunk the place out' with one nils last year, with this squad sitting men behind the ball in an organised formo and trying to score on the counter or from set pieces is a hell of a lot better than the unstructured kick chase footy we have been playing in the last few weeks.

Ben God MOM by a stretch, but really away at Palace it should have been an attacking player or a midfielder and not awarded to a second choice full back because he runs hard and tries hard and puts a tackle in. Him MOM away at Palace is symptomatic of our tactics and strategy.

Growing up an Everton fan we are drilled into us the principles of good honest football, including that we are not a sacking club. I'm teetering on the brink here

You have to ask why if Richarlison had that little Injury, why the Boss even took a chance the 2nd half, that could have backfired big time and saying he took him off because of the current Injury's, seems a little odd when he should maybe not have came out the 2nd half

I went out and did a bit of gardening after about 15 minutes it was so bad, and just came in every so often to see how it was going. A few 0-0s, then a disappointing 1-0 and I didn't bother again after 2-0. I saw the final score on the news later.

This is a fair reflection of my involvement with Everton these days.
I have a similar level of involvement these days too. Despite being on tv so often I rarely waste time watching the full game. Since covid stopped us going to games it showed me that whether I made the effort to travel to cheer on the team home and away or just sat at home watching the latest scores from the comfort of my armchair, the poor performances, lack of effort and major let downs just keep on coming.

Many posters above saying it not the manager its the players and many saying the reverse. Truth is it is all of them. Professional footballers should not be making stupid mistakes. When that happens in the Premier League the opposition likely scores. Equally these are professional footballers, we have a squad full of internationals and expensive players and if the manager cannot get results of any sort from games week in week out then he too is to blame.
At some point very soon something has to change or the form table will become the league table and we will go down!
We cannot recruit or afford enough players in January to make a difference and they take longer to bed in , so the only choice is to replace the manager.
Everyone expects us to lose to Chelsea, what happens if we lose to Leicester too?

I'm sure hje was carrying the injury going into the game. He was dead by the end at arsenal, hardly moving.l

if that happens, my word, Newcastle will be in for a thrashing.

Nobody has suggested that we should change the manager for the sake of it. What has been suggested is that we should change the manager for the sake of Everton Football Club.

I think we’re done for.

This mess is the final culmination of several years bad management, the overwhelming majority of the problems arose before this season commenced. Benitez cannot be above criticism at a tactial level, but the lack of an overarching strategy has been disastrous and is the real root cause.

We need to rebuild, but I don’t trust anyone at the club to manage that process. If we survive, a key player or two will leave. They will need replacing, but I do not believe we are capable of doing it. If we get relegated, the situation gets much harder. They will have to be sold with the possibility of much less being re invested.
