From Tika Taka 'principles' to get it punted 'principles'. He's a fraud. I've always maintained it.

The way he swallowed all the BS of his own making about 'we only attack' - picked up on and amplified back to him by a pliant and know-nothing footy commentariat - meant he felt the need to be a prisoner to it even when disaster was in progress and screaming he should stop and consolidate.

This feller got to play with expensive toys for a while. If Liverpool fail to land the title this season after all that's gone on they'll be taken away from him in short order when he craters next season.

They're a counter-attacking side and there's nothing wrong with that. I'm just surprised that so many teams have been so open and allowed themselves to get blitzed. Jose had the right idea with parking the bus. They quickly get frustrated and push more and more bodies forward, leaving themselves open to the sucker-punch.

They've played pretty much the same side all season barring the centrebacks. Even if they go out and spend £100m over the summer they're probably going to need quantity over quality to help them cope with the demands of various competitions. They can buy Tello, Caulker and Kroos if they want but I think it will disrupt their tight-knit chemistry and confuse Rodgers with too many options and permutations.

At least West Brom have a reasonable excuse for shipping a 3 goal lead (at home to Spurs).. they're not supposed to be very good and the opposition were supposed to be better than them. Funnily enough my lad asked me the other day what was the biggest comeback I'd ever seen us achieve/suffer and I can't remember losing a 3 goal lead or recovering from 3-0 down to draw. We did lose a couple in 1975 when we were 2-0 up but, other than that, not sure.. can't remember 3-0 or 0-3 becoming a draw, can anyone else?

I did cite the 3-4 semi in 1953 when we missed a penalty at 0-4 and got 3 back in the 2nd half but obviously that was way before my time.
Came from 0 3 down vs spurs at WHL early 90s iirc, a very young david urns worth equalised in injury time.

.....not necessarily, if City get beat the reds will be long odds-on. Personally, I like a bet but I'm afraid I couldn't ever bring myself to back that lot even if the likelihood is that I'm making a few bob.

What you could do is have a bet on Villa tomorrow night.

They are 18/1 to win. That would work out at around 9/2 plus a goal so there is "consolation" money to be made if City screw up.

Let's be right here lads, if we as Evertonians were scripting this fantastic collapse, when they had 1 hand on the trophy, even we would have said it was a tad too far fetched.

5 points clear with 3 games left, Gerrards slip and then chucking away a 3-0 lead in 9 minutes, it's been a genuine thing of beauty to witness.

The fact that they've managed to get so close, and predictably - as kopites - celebrated hard even when they'd not clinched it. From the big flags and flares at their home games, through to the Sky scripted huddle and those now infamous T shirts, to see them spew it in such spectacular fashion has been the biggest does of karma I can ever remember them being dealt.

If City blow this, I'm neg-repping everybody who got ahead of themselves thinking it was over!

...cant...

...laugh...

....yet..
lol

How can you not laugh at that last night ?

Infact i actually want Villa to nick a draw at the Etihad tomorrow, just so it gives the kopites a glimmer of hope and i can relive last night and all that came with it again at the weekend when City finally win it on goal difference.

but them thinking they were winning it, to then looking down and out, to thinking its on again.......... to finally and officially losing it, is too marvelous for me.

will only be marvellous once its a done deal.

i had my period of no waaaaaay its going to happen, or that their run wouldnt last, and it did. so much so that they are still in it down to the last weekend.

learned my lesson!

Much enjoyment re-watching it on MOTD before, seeing Suarez pick up the ball and run back to the halfway line following Liverpool's third goal, most likely to try and damage Man City's goal difference advantage, to see a late equaliser make the guy cry.

Also, I honestly think I could have won the header that Skrtel missed for the third. If you go for it, you get it, you don't change your mind at the last - we learned that aged fourteen with the school team.
