..there’s a brilliant mural of Alan Ball and the famous quote in the Home dressing room. It would be good if things like that transition to the new ground.

Completely agree.

History is all well and good and I appreciate the need to celebrate our past as much as anyone, but we're a club that's encased in it like a tomb at times and it suffocates us. Leave all the nonsense about Rupert Towers and Leitch criss-crosses and Littlewoods clocks behind and embrace the future. It's time to move on.

I agree with this mostly. IMO there is nothing wrong with a nod to our past, in fact I'd encourage it. A glance is ok, a gaze will hinder us.

The best reminder of our past we can get is by putting a team out there with the spirit of the 80's team in them. The ability of the school of science.

We need this as an opportunity to create a new future, while paying homage to, rather than remaining in, our past.

I want the gable that's in my avatar restored.

Goodison's holy trinity was the gable, church and the criss crosses, the clock was Joe Royle!

I don't want a crap nod to them neither, like in the concourses, put them in their rightful places.

I think the Lietch criss cross design is the only thing that's needed and the reason is it's instantly recognisable as home. The new stadium might be unique but instantly recognisable as Everton's. With E V E R T O N written around as well of course.

I tend to agree with this although, this sounds a clever notion and tipping our cap to Goodison...
To me the Leitch crosses could be added via electronic advertising boards on the upper tier (they don't have to be displayed all the time)

And if we're having a clock, it needs to be a state of the art one and sponsored for huge money by the likes of Rolex, not a Littlewoods throwback memory jerker.

If the new stadium is going to incorporate a museum, then that's where we should honour our heritage and rightly so, but as @davek says, let's embrace the future with a modern, forward looking stadium in which to produce newer glories, history and memories.

The one thing we should bring is the Dixie statue. Get every new signing to pay homage to him, tell them just what he did and tell them this is the standard we are aiming for.
