Dog owners are the biggest deniers.
He'll no' hurt ye!
As their sizeable animal makes for my goolies in the park.
Why should I have to put up with that?
As a dog owner myself, I gotta say dog owners are the 'kin worst. A large number have absolutely no consideration for other people, or other dogs and their owners, whatsoever.

The amount of crap left on the popular dog walking routes near mine is horrendous. If you can't be arsed picking up your barker's eggs, don't own a dog.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Liverpool (well north liverpool, I never went Southside much) is by far the worst place I have been in the country for dog poo on pavements and parks.

A friend of mine went on a date with a guy who had a french bulldog. I warned in advance that unless his ownership of this dog was the result of a messy breakup then he is likely to be devoid of personality, sexually repressed and also a wet cloth. I was right.

I know this cos I have to walk my girlfriends pug by myself often and that’s the way I feel other people look at me. I want to put a post it note on its head explaining that it’s not mine.

The single men with the small, no nose dogs are far more dangerous than any Rottweiler.

The thing is I really love dogs and they love me. I had a wee Jack Russell as a child which went everywhere with me and I was heartbroken when she got run over in the road.

It's the casual, callous owners that scare me. Lockdown has not been good in this regard.

Not all are bad mate, I’m a dog owner and I always pick it up. I always see other people picking it up too.
I get your point though, even just one turd is disgusting but it’s more than that, you can almost tell what type of scummy people they are that just leave it on the pavement, utter vermin with no respect for anyone.

The one thing that bothers me about people who let their dogs off the lead is they have zero consideration for people or dogs that are on leads minding their own business. A dog out with its owner on a lead suddenly gets approached by a dog off the lead and goes for it, that dog will probably be the one put down when in fact it was the one on its lead.
Sweeping statement to start there as its certainly not all people who let their dogs off the lead.

I let my dog off the lead at every opportunity. He loves to play, and has never been vicious or aggressive to another dog or person (only me and my partner when he is testing as he is still a pup). But, if a dog is coming towards us on a lead, he is immediately put back on his lead despite the fact he is desperate to say hello and play. He has had off lead dogs go at him and try to bite him, and he still doesn't react, he just tries to get back to me.

My issue then is, there are plenty of places to walk, if you cant/won't let your dog off the lead, why take it to areas where its common for dogs to be off lead?

Why should my dog not be allowed to walk or play on dog walking routes, she is well behaved and the reason I don't let her off is she is too friendly and it isn't right for her to just run up to other dogs. That is my responsibility. Before I got my dog spayed the amount of times she was sexually assaulted by male dogs off leads where owners were nowhere to be seen was ridiculous and I even got told she shouldn't be out lol lol

If you let your dog off and it has good recall and isn't aggressive then fine, not all dogs off leads are some are vicious and still let off. My point was though you don't know the personality of other dogs and therefore if you can't stop your dog approaching strangers then it should stay on a lead, that goes for me as my dog approaches everyone.

Sure, I meet lots of ace owners when I'm walking mine. There are just a really high number of arsehats that own dogs, too.
