I thought he was on a wind up mission myself. He's swinging away like Mexican kids at a Piñata.

It's a classical BB-cat thread, he's awesome on here.

BB: Black is white.

Other: No it's not, it's white.

BB: Barbed comment, you're all wrong.

Other: Ok

BB: Meet me in real life for a fight.

THE END.

*Logs off.

Come on champ, get back off the canvas. Ghost will be arriving soon. Sadly without demons in tow.

We will get injuries. We always do. Heaven help us if we are left with Heskey and Crouch. Risk taking is part of the game. Rooney could be taken as a Striking midfielder, and open a space up couldn't he?

possibly he may take 5 forwards , now that Beckham wont be going but I doubt it. As I said earlier playing Rooney in any other position other than Central striker would be pure folly.

My Squad bearing in mind Beckham wont be going so theres one place up for grabs

STRKERS
Rooney
Defoe
Crouch
Cole/Heskey - undecided yet

RIGHT MIDFIELD
Adam Johnson
SWP

LEFT MIDFIELD
Milner
Cole

CENTER MIDFIELD
Gerrard
Lampard
Carrick
Barry

RIGHT BACK
Johnson
Wes Brown (big question mark)

LEFT BACK
Baines
Lescott (also cover for Center Half)

CENTER HALF
Terry
Ferdinand
Dawson/Jagielka

GOALKEEPER
Green
Hart
James

That leaves 1 place....Do you take Bent or Walcott? I would be inclined to take Bent, however I think Capello will take Walcott - (Barlows boots told me...taps nose)

Kevin Phillips springs to mind. Besides, Crouch scores two goals every game for England so will clearly be first choice, followed by Rooney, then Nugent who has a goal per game ratio.

European qualifying hurts players like Crouch and Bent. They only get to show their stuff against udder crap teams which does not good when trying to evaluate against to top ones. Sure Crouch scores alot and is the scourge of Azerbajan and Mali but what the hell does that have to do with anything? How many actually good teams has England actually played in games of concequence over the past 4 years. Two (Croatia and Russia)? and they even in the WC. How any manager expects to evaluate how good anybody is beyond me.

UEFA would be much better off with having smaller groups and having qualyfing games between the Faroe Is, Andorras and San Marinos. It maybe harder to qualify in Europe b/c you have to win your group but even teams in CONCACAF play better competetion.

Bent is a very good striker but only when playing for mid table teams like Sunderland. He blew away his chance for Spurs and Spurs ruined him a bit aswell. 16.5 for him was a fluke.

He's good enough to get a call up for England but not close to a starting place when you've got Rooney,Defoe,Agbonlahor all better than him.

Good achievement for him, it makes spurs look stupid which is always good.(y)

Fixed that for you

How many international goals does Bent have on his resume?

Probably would be best to try him out in smaller competitions first; something other than the WC. At best maybe Capello can use Bent in that friendly with Mexico to test the waters, but I don't see a reason (outside of injury) to upset the chemistry of what you have already as you have an amazing group of forwards.

I'm not well-versed on Bent, but after reading this thread, he sounds a lot like Robbie Findley for the US.... Near the top of the MLS in scoring last year, great finishing, fast, but when he plays on the international level he seems to disappear. We found this out most recently when the US played the Netherlands a few weeks ago. :(
