Probably have won the league if el coco dropped his faves and played quality instead

Hmmm...perhaps, but before we decide, let's take a look at what our Dazza was up too last season, shall we?

Yup, you're right. That there is title-winning stuff.

Nah, you're right, it is definitely sound that we're offering contracts to players who have barely kicked a ball in 3 years and have been nicked for drink driving in the early hours of the morning after hitting a cyclist. That definitely reflects well on us as a club.

He's not been in the first team for most of his time here and at times when he could have been he hasn't looked after himself to be fit to be called for duty. When he hasn't played there aren't people crying out for him, he's not an important player for us and one we could have and should have let go.

OK, but look at his behaviour since the incident, maybe it was the much needed (albeit it long overdue) kick up the arse he needed. He's played reasonably well towards the end of the season and is regaining fitness. What better incentive but to give him a new contract for trying to turn his career around?

i reckon...

moshiri - yo koe, you wanna keep this gibson chap?

koeman -ello moshi, not really seen him play, any good?

moshiri - looks like a useless drunk to me, but ive got money to burn ..shall i give him a contract as apparently another club wants him

koeman(finishes 5th margarita) - yeah, why not! hahahah ..hic

I don't mate

I've already said I wouldn't have signed him to a new deal

However, I felt you were being unfair to him

I'm very much of the opinion that you should call a spade a spade, even if you're not someone's biggest fan

I'm not being unfair Mikey.

Gibson - and I've said this many times before - needs to be moved on... for both his and Evertons' best interests.
He needs to play and we don't need him or his wage bill.

By your rating, he's at best fourth behind JM, GB and MB, so he's likely a very expensive commodity to have sitting around.
If someone came in for him, and let's call a spade a spade, nobody in the top ten of the Prem is going to, he' be better going to a team in the Championship - Newcastle :) - where he might, if he stays fit, get to play regularly and earn his wages.

By the standards needed these days to be a truly effective, offensive midfielder in the Premiership, he is simply not close to the required level of ability, fitness, pace, tackling, heading - anything.

He needs to move on and play, not hang around here relying on others getting injured/losing form - cos that's the ONLY way he's ever gonna feature in the future... in my opinion.

He was out of contract and walks for nothing. Now he's got a value in todays mental market.

If Koeman comes in and doesn't fancy him, he can sell him for cash dollars.

I don't see the issue ladies.

Imagine if he gets a solid pre-season under his belt and stays fit, we've got ourselves at worst a quality backup without spunking money on some mercenary.
