Here's a few reasons to keep him.

1. I think he was fit for pretty much most of last season.
2. He counts as a home grown player.
3. He's only 28.
4. Makes business sense to have him on a contract and sell on if it doesn't work out than let him go for free and pay a premium for a home grown squad filler.
5. Any player who isn't coming close to retirement deserves a chance under the new management.
6. Having Gibson at the club could be another reason for Rooney to switch from united.
7. He was Evertons best player when Koeman last saw us a few months ago.
8. He has experience of winning the premier league.

Here's a few reasons to let him go.
Poor fitness.
Poor off field behavior

I think it make sense to keep him, at least till Koeman has had a chance to assess him properly.

Yes, but in rebuttle:

1. And yet still barely played, presumably because he was either pissed, driving somewhere, or both.
2. So do I - doesn't mean I should get a deal.
3. ....yet still can't get himself fit to start more than a handful.
4. No-one will pay enough for a perma-crocked drunk to make the expenses of agent's fees, signing-on fees etc. worth while
5. Not if they can't be trusted to actually play ever they don't!
6. WTF!?! We don't want Rooney from Utd...he's even older, fatter and shitter than Gibbo these days
7. I'd like to think a manager would make a decision based on more than a single appearance...especially when it was the exception rather than rule
8. Yeah, but he hardly seems the sort I'd want my young players modelling themself on tbh mate...you'd end up with a team of Drenthe's

Not defending Gibson on that he was totally wrong.
But, if Premiership clubs were to apply the highest moral standards to their players they wouldn't have a team never mind a squad.

Come on, that's a slight exaggeration. Yes, there are some idiots in the game, but few could match Gibson.

15 games a season for 12 seasons!

Drunk driving, in the morning!!! Knocked a cyclist over....

I don't know the guy, but I knew the rumours were he's a drinker when SAF got rid. Did Moyes take this one for his own reasons?

I personally wouldn't entertain this waster.

I with you on your summary.

I'll have what you're having

You never know, the new fitness bloke might be able to get him playing a lot more. There's no doubting a fit DG would be great for the team. He's as good as Barry and is six years younger. If it doesn't work out then at least he doesn't go for free.

He's a winner but i wish he was thinner...keeping him here is no fail, So what he likes ale ?..He has a medal and hates things with pedals.
Think it's a win win personally.
