Yes injury prone but too good a player to get rid. We need a bigger squad anyway. Even when fit I think RM will rotate him along with many others to keep them fresh as possible.

The injury that put him out of last season was a freak one that he's never had before. Admittedly he's got his injury problems, but i think missing the whole season may benefit him and us in getting more games out of him next Season. Get another CM in on top of Barry and being able to rotate McCarthy, Barry and Gibson would leave us strong in the middle of the park.

Put him upfront in whatever state he is in and he'd still be better than Kone

Him and McCarthy could be very, very good together. We all know Gibson's main weakness is his mobility (his positioning however is very good) but McCarthy doesn't stop running at all.

I'd still like to see Barry and one other brought in - I don't know where that would leave Osman though? Competing with Naismith as back up for Barkley?

Osman should be relegated to playing awful European and League Cup teams and acting as extreme injury cover.

Was boss in pre-season, to me he looked like the player that suited a Martinez team the most out of any of our players.

Just hoping he rediscovers that awesome dig he had on him at Man Utd.

Hopefully he can overcome his injury problems this season. Will be a valuable asset especially now we've got Europe, we need all the help we can get.
That's what I think too. Some players are injury prone and then seem to grow out of it, Steven Gerard use to pick up a lot of injuries early on.

Can't wait to see Gibbo back in the royal blue, should never have played in that dead rubber qualifier for Ireland last season imo
