Selling him would be insane considering how much we'd get for him and what he can offer. He was very, very good at times whilst he was fit.

Plus, this:

We relied heavily on Barry last season. Gibsons body isn't up to that and we can't afford to have Leon Osman playing CM next season. Gibson will be managed in the same way Ross was last season IMO. That's fine by me as he's a brilliant player when he's fit and on his game.

Just as well Robin Van Persie never played for Everton . He would have been shipped out in no time given his injury record.

Some players get injured more than others, that is he reason for having a large squad. As far as I know Gibson never had a cruciate injury before so it can hardly be called recurring.
But,yes he is a player who will have to be minded carefully as he seems more susceptible to injuries than other players.I think this means that he shouldn't play a large number of games without a break , plays only when 100% ready and not rushed back as happened with a couple of players
last year.

Since we bought him Gibson has made 28 appearances over his two full seasons. The least Van Persie ever made at Arsenal over two full seasons was 52. Stupid comparison.

We cant make him an first teamer as he unreliable, he will be ok as a squad player, come on a sub so players can be rested.

Gibson will be like a new signing for us since he was away so much last season. Hopefully he can fight for a spot in the midfield. We need his type of players alongside Barkley and McCarthy. Can't understand why someone would like to sell him just because he has a bad injuryrecord. We need to increase our squad with players that can contribute to the team. Gibson is definately one of those players. He might not be able to play 2 games a week, week after week. But he can definitely do the job when called upon, be it as a sub or as a backup when we have other injuries or some other midfielder needs a rest.

I hate the mentality of people getting rid of players all the time full stop. We need a squad not just 11 players

Hopefully he can overcome his injury problems this season. Will be a valuable asset especially now we've got Europe, we need all the help we can get.

If we can sign Barry, retain Gibson for Europa League and League Cup games?

Depth and all that...

The injury that put him out of last season was a freak one that he's never had before. Admittedly he's got his injury problems, but i think missing the whole season may benefit him and us in getting more games out of him next Season. Get another CM in on top of Barry and being able to rotate McCarthy, Barry and Gibson would leave us strong in the middle of the park.

What these guys said. Great option to have to swap around with Barry during the season. Hopefully sharing the role will keep them both fresh and injury free during our long season.

I hope he will be like a new signing for us, he will have been out a year though so I imagine he will be very rusty and will he even come back as the same player. Probably better to not expect to much to soon from him as I imagine he will have a few iffy games for us before he starts getting back to what he was like in the 2012/13 season, if anyone is in need of a good pre-season it's him.

look the great thing about having someone injury prone is that they can be like a new signing year after year for about a half before their leg falls off again

Seen that Kone was training hard for next season but nothing about Gibbo ?
am starting to get a bad feeling about this, hope I am wrong like.

I forgot Kone existed to be honest. As for Gibson, it would be stupid to sell him, he is a great player in the middle of the park. Hopefully gets a decent pre-season and pushes on from there.

It wouldn't be stupid if he's going to keep getting injured and costing money in wages.
