TBH he should be knighted for being so honest. because most of the time when Saha isn't up for it...

He is a French Lazy [Poor language removed]. And if there were police by me, id be banned for life for the stuff i come out with.

Also Black toffee, you talk more shite than most in here. I wonder if that your view because Saha is Black?. Im sure it is...
 
I've been a Safety steward at Football grounds for almost five years, and i assure you i've heard much worse things at Football matches than "you lazy french [Poor language removed]".
 
I'm one of "the PC brigade" but that is just ridiculous. Punished in three different ways, one of which jeopardises his - and others' - very relationship with the club.

Good post mate. I'm one of the so called PC Brigade, which I hope means someone who detests racism. I'm glad he was reported, not sure how else you get rid of the evil of racism. But he didn't kill anyone, didn't harm anyone. and I still think that t the punishment seems excessive in the extreme.

If he did indeed just use the word "French", then at worst it's xenophobia, and in all probability just an accurate adjective.

In no way is it racist, as the French aren't a race.

In fact, labelling the French as such is offensive.

We'll have to wait to see the full details I suppose.

Well i'd be inclined to think that too. I can't speak for Goodison but i've worked at several other Premier League grounds and there are steps taken when racist abuse is heard. The complainant will report it to the steward and the fan is pointed out. Then the Steward will report it to the head steward, who reports it to the control room. Control will immediately direct a plain clothed steward to the area, who will sit near the fan in question and listen for further abuse. If he's heard again, then he'll be dealt with. Its very rarely a single incident that they get clocked for.
 

I'd just like to point out that French people can indeed be considered a race, as can English or Japanese people. Racism is not limited to physical attributes, it can also be directed against a group based on their country of origin.

Devil's Advocate and all that.
 
I think if the tone of the insult, which it is, i doubt he was complimenting him - must have been the language which should be considered abusive, and the public order of it all, there is no need to speak to people in that manner, he is a grown man - shouting at another grown man, and paying for the privilege, i don't agree with the ban - but at least it may make him consider things to act his age.

Sharpy, I know that you hate facts, it spoils a good rant. But the truth is the guy was charged with a public order offence including alleged racially aggravated harassment. That's why I doubt the whole "I only called him French line" doesn't really square with the charge.

You also conveniently leave out my comment that I feel that the 3 year ban is disproportionate to the offence.

I'd keep drinking that bleach if I was you, might help your face blend into that white pointed hood thing you wear when you come on here.
