YOu can talk about all the team players you want and we have more than our fair share of them. but sometimes you need a match winner on the pitch, someone to create or score out of nothing to win games. If this lad is anywhere near what he is talked about then id love to invest our time into him and hope for a new star of the team. Worst case scenario is that he doesn't make it but we haven't spent millions on him to find that out so it is all positive in my eyes

Just speculating here: maybe because his transfer to Lille in January didn't fall through? Maybe he's willing to sign now as a form of compromise because Standard isn't exactly a wealthy club so a transfer is impossible; so he gets loaned out to Standard and in return sign a prolongation so that he isn't able to leave on a free in the summer?

From the loan thread it would appear not. Of course, Bundesliga is a good standard, so whether that puts him behind Lookman and DCL is hard to say.

Admittedly, I've only watched them both a few times but I would say that Lookman currently appears more impressive in a similar position.
