David Moyes Happy At Everton

I'd also be happy if I was sat in a mega-money job with little pressure to do well compared to his peers in the same job at other clubs.

Just don't get relegated and you're quids in, because the fans will blame a "lack of investment" for the performance of the team. :)

Davey doesnt strike me as the sort of manager to sit in a job just cos it pays well - He has spoken numerous times of wanting to challenge and being competitive - If he didn't feel this was possible he wouldnt stay in it just for the cash - he is a man with ambition.
But genuinely - even given our lack of investment - there aren't many bigger clubs in England (other than the obvious 5 or 6) the rest are on a par with us or lower and any cash could only get them to where we are already.

Idiotic comment. Sorry, that's such a stupid comment.

It's idiotic when it comes to Moyes' attitude. He's said any number of times how he wants Everton to push on. However, it's painfully accurate when it describes the financial handcuffs he has to deal with.

Everton is David Moyes club just like Man utd. is Sir Alex's, he wants to turn us back into one of the big boys and I don't think he'll give up until the final piece of the jigsaw is solved after years of pain-staking work.

Is that so? Then tell me why he's stated a number of times in the past few weeks that he accepts that 7th is probably as good as it gets for Everton.

because at the moment with our current lack of money, he is being realistic? that doesnt mean he is only aiming for 7th, hes just accepting the situation. would of thought that was obvious fella.

Davek's right, Moyes should just march in there, pin Kenwright to the wall by the scruff of the neck and tell him that if he doesn't get more money he's going to leave.

Then Kenwright will say no, and Moyes will go back to the training ground where he belongs. He's a manager, not the Chairman.

No, no, no. There's really no need for those amateur dramatics. All he needs do is tell the Chairman and directors who he wishes to add to the squad this summer. If they say he wont be able to add to it because there's no investment, then he can simply tell them 'ok, I'll be keeping what I have then'.

But we both know, dont we, that Moyes will accept a sell to buy policy that leaves a fair few million for the board to pay down the debts they ran up.

He's happy here and doesn't mind having bugger all money to help do his job better and keep in touch with our rivals?

Or :

He's happy here apart from the fact he gets bugger all money to spend to help do his job better and keep in touch with our rivals?

managing expectations

He's got no need to do that. Most people accept we've fallen off the pace of the usual contenders + Spurs and City.

If he's got ambition it's time for him to start demanding these tvvats pull their fingers out and back him. Moyes cant continue crying poverty and do fcuk all about it.

But anywhere else he might get money but only usually enough to bring them up to our level - only the top 6 clubs above us actually have money to improve their squad - the rest are still catching up or buying based on sales.

Not Benitez wont go to Vill acos they wont give him emough money to spend!

Maybe Davey has more idea of why there isn't any money to spend than you - ie the owners dont have it!

By managing expectations he takes pressure off players and possibly allowing them to play with a bit more freedom.
