David Moyes - Taking a knife to a gunfight at West Ham, Part 2

We were playing fantastic football one year ago, doesn't mean it will always be that way. If they are still top over Christmas I might readdress my thoughts on the matter.
They have played good football consistently since lockdown, and now look to be moving up a level again. Moyes currently has a win percentage of 46.27% at West Ham. He has basically made them Everton MkII. Arguably his Everton+.

OK Let's hire Chris Wilder then...oh hang on..
Moyes cuffed us during his first spell after sorting them out. He then came in again and improved them no end, getting his first Goodison win as an away manager in the process. We did manage to stop them finishing higher after beating them at their place, but the fact they are now a better team than us, despite our massive spending, shows how good he has done there.

Mate, are you Moyes' fluffer?

I love the internet. A man who won nothing for us in 11 years then had 6 and a bit years of abject failure, had one good season and started this season well (2 games) and suddenly we should have got him. Never change.

We had some of the most uninspiring seasons the since moyes left. So we are in no position to criticise them.
no one is expecting West Ham to be top at christmas

Don't get me wrong I'm not criticising what he is doing with West Ham, he has done a great job but at the same token as I said that could easily be a flash in the pan and therefore the people saying we should have got him are premature.

Last season was very yo-yo for a lot of teams and just because they got a good start this season doesn't mean more than they have got a decent start. As I think @Toast pointed out as soon as Europe starts bitting in can they keep it going twice a week, cope with an injury to a key player etc. and still be classed in the end as the 5th/6th/7th best team in the land + be in for the cups.

Our own failings have nothing to do with wanting to get someone who so far bar from the odd season specialises in mediocrity. He can change that perception but it takes time.
