Im a fan of Moyes but hes not very good with money. He had mega bucks to spend at Utd and didnt do very well. Im glad he is doing well now.
Well, the two major players that he took to ManU, Fellaini and Mata, should actually tell you that he has an eye for a bargain. Plus, both of them played for VanGaal as well Mourinho who came after Moyes. Was he backed by the Man Utd, management hierarchy? THAT is the question to be asked... IIRC, he wanted Ander Herrera, and Toni Kross to join them, as a matter of fact ManU plumped for Herrera after Moyes left and played couple(?) of years for them before shunting off to PSG of all the places.

So don't get your point as to how he's not very good with money.

They were both expensive signings at the time and none of them really excelled imo. He is very good at finding bargain players and getting the best out of them. Maybe saying he is not good with money is maybe a bit ott, but I think his forte is finding bargain players than spending big money on established players

Fellaini wasn’t expensive for Man Utd. They were meant to be getting in a Fabregas or a Bale.

Man Utd had lost Scholes and Giggs, while RVP went back to permacrock status. Rio and Vidic were done, as was Evra.

Fellaini alone was never enough, and Moyes knew that at the time.

Moyes paid the price for Woodward’s incompetence, and Man Utd have been stuck with Woodward ever since. He doesn’t really seem to understand football beyond a superficial level.
