David Moyes - Taking a knife to a gunfight at West Ham, Part 2

In what sense? From an accounting/P&L one, or where has the cash come from?
I don’t know I am not the accountant of the club. I just think the Brazilian lad can improve our attack instantly while we are betting on Gordon’s potential which could or could not be fulfilled. £60m is insane money from Chelsea, if true.

They have a crown jewel in Declan Rice and he will be sold in the next 12 months maybe this window! Liverpool are after a midfielder??

Spot on. Think this season is about trying to break top 6 before they sell Rice next season.

Paqueta is a hell of a signing though. Even when we had the cash we weren’t targeting that calibre of player.

The Moyes masterplan in action - a slow start followed by a back-to-basics spawny win. Now it looks like he has found a new Arteta, so they will inevitably get to a couple of semis and finish sixth or seventh.

They sit 7th in the list as highest net spenders in Europe, in the last 10 years.

Even if they sold Rice for £100 million, they would still be above Bayern Munich.
