I think Irvine is very underrated in our recent history.Just read some interesting quotes from Alan Irvine about their time at Everton. Apparently it was Irvine and Jimmy Lumsden who were pushing for the signings of Arteta, Pienaar and Baines. Apparently Moyes took a lot of convincing because he doesn't like small players. Might explain why Moyes hasn't done much without Irvine next to him. His Wham team of the last couple of years matches what he did with us, but from a footballing perspective his Everton team were better precisely because of the players signed by Irvine mentioned above.
He wasn’t a better manager for thoughYou said we haven't had a better manager than moyes since he left. Ancelotti is a better manager than moyes, there can be no argument about it. Just look at what he's won ffs.
I take it you mean for us. If so then that's a different debate and quite difficult to compare to be honest. But anyway that's not was said.He wasn’t a better manager for though
It’s hardly a shock. Wee Jimmy said years ago that the reason their relationship with Moyes worked is that they would all speak honestly with each other and that, at the end of the day, Moyes would make the calls. It is a good thing that Moyes didn’t surround himself with yes men and that they would talk about all the football matters under the sun.Just read some interesting quotes from Alan Irvine about their time at Everton. Will be funny if fan pressure led to the board being in the position of having to sack him to make way for a prearranged replacement after he won their first trophy in forty-odd years.if wham are stupid enough to let him go, then i would take him back like a shot.
he is a perfect fit, and i couldn't give a fig about all the offence he caused in the past.
He never caused offence, just that some decided to be offended, which was ridiculousif wham are stupid enough to let him go, then i would take him back like a shot.
