Exactly.Exactly. Paint the picture on the training pitch and move forward not hark on about your old teams players. Probably only Guardiola could get away with that if he started talking about what he did with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta etc.
Why did he not show him videos of some of the CB greats Rio will have seen play like Baresi Nesta Kohler Cannavaro Hierro as an example. We did not get a fourth place finish and regular European or very close to positions - by using 3 DM's with no strategy lol
'He shows videos while top managers have systems that utilise attacking and defending, Moyes is more about stopping the opposition.'
He used the video as a training tool, not as a substitute for strategies or systems, maybe that sentence is missing a comma or two but it doesn't make sense to me, you can watch a video and still have a system, it's probably just me but any way I read it, it's not quite right.
He erased United’s DNA in record time by stripping away the remnants of the backroom team of their most recent success, and then filled this vacuum by instilling his own loser mentality.Exactly.
Moyes joins United and gets rid of the Dutch coach Rene Meulensteen who was a big part of helping and improving Ronaldo's finishing.
Ronaldo used to do finishing drills with him after training which paid off when he hit 40 odd goals in 07-08 and he's never stopped scoring.
Why did he not show him videos of some of the CB greats Rio will have seen play like Baresi Nesta Kohler Cannavaro Hierro as an example.
Rio must have left the room thinking How the **** is this guy our manager. when he's being schooled to defend like a low block defender with not much pace who wasn't fit to lace his boots.
But comments by Rio about Moyes's time at United are pretty much that, pretty scathing about his training methods and how out of his depth he was.
Moyes loves a triple DM midfield btw.

Souness did precisely this at RS. Giving it the big “I Am”, “doing things my way”, paying no heed to what makes a successful club.
It was a double whammy of pain for United as not only did they start losing via the influence of the loser, the dour football served up was diabolical. Signing Fellaini should have had alarm bells ringing for any remaining United fan who was still willing to give the new fella appointed by Fergie a shot. That infamous Fulham game of endless crosses, no method of play, just endless crosses.
And on Fergie, I’m not totally convinced he was this bad a judge of a manager. His judgement of players was generally excellent, so surely he had an inkling of what a good manager looked like. Therefore I can only conclude, as far fetched as it may be, he deliberately banjaxed the club by leaving them with this deadbeat, thus enhancing his own standing in the game. Fergie's managerial reputation is enhanced with every passing year with no title (will be at least 8)...”god if only we had Fergie in charge”, but the bigger picture is, he is the man that set their downfall in motion with this appointment.
Jagielka was the fastest player in the league at that time.

I still maintain that Fellaini going to United at that time wasn't a bad buy as a jack of all trades. Throw him on with 20 minutes to go and he can play defensively and can cause mayhem up front if they were chasing a game. A rugged style, but effective for a team at the very top who need an extra dimension to their play that they wouldn't normally use. The big thing was not refreshing the players who should be starters. Anyway, yesterday's news and yesterday's man.My brother rates Fellaini as the least talented player he ever saw for united. I would dispute that but Moyes just had him run around kicking people and never played to his strengths except when putting him up top to knock down headers.
He told me of one home game where Fellaini once got the ball at his feet in midfield and had no idea what he was supposed to do. In the end he held it up as long as he could and passed it out for a throw in... David Moyes ladies and gentlemen
