2024/25 David Moyes

I'm personally grateful for that, but it doesn't mean we should have kept him. He was found out and refused to adapt his team or tactics. It took Moyes less than a week to realise that the starting 11 Dyche was using wasn't good enough.
He was far from perfect and I wanted him out in the summer.

But there's some utter clowns calling Dyche a coward and they need to be silent and allow the feller some credit.

And btw: Moyes chose to walk out on this club and then take the piss out of us. Dyche has been nothing but respectful.

We were close to throwing away a 3 goal lead cos he decided to play 6 defenders rather than captilise on their suspect cb's (Davis and Archie Gray!!!) and keep the momentum going. We could have had any of BEto/Armstrong/Harrison on for Doucs/DCL/Lindstrom and I guarantee you it would not have been nearly so nervy at the end at the lads get a run out up front with the pressure off.

It really was poor decision making tbh and could have cost us dearly. If he didnt have form for it Id be less concerned it is just that he is still "heart in your mouth for the last 15 minutes" davjey Moyes.
All true.

People are determined to welcome David Moyes back - and I get that. He did a good job the first time around. But too many forget his fatal flaws - which will eventually hole us under the bough when we are properly competitive again. At 3-0 today, Davey installed his patented glass ceiling. His instinct is not to gamble or to put the foot on the throat of the opposition - it's to go back into his shell, assume the position, and declare "what we have, we hold." Ironically, ceding the initiative is precisely what got us into a needless tight corner there at the end.

Still, I have no illusions with Davey. He is not the future for a truly upwardly-mobile progressive club. But he can do enough to keep us up. I'll take the win with my eyes wide open. It's those thinking it portends seriously better days ahead who will end us disillusioned...
