Let’s drag the ‘we play special football’ brigade in to the relegation scrap. I’m not having it that we have to hope the bottom four all have to lose every week for us to stay up. Jesus, this is pure Dyche mentality. We win more games we stay up. So let’s win more games.

If we’re winning games then our league position takes care of itself, but we’re not going to win every week, so we need them to lose as much as possible to offset the weeks we don’t win

The injuries are annoying. Just as he’s getting Garner back we’ve pretty much lost McNeil Mangala and Calvert Lewin. Right before the derby as well.

The issue with it is now we have to keep playing Gueye and Garner as there’s no sub for them unless Irogenbunam comes back, and out of the 4 strikers on our book only one of them is available.

That’s literally what happens if Leicester beat them.

I’m not saying that’s my preference, I’m saying even if Leicester don’t lose , and they win … it means we can pull spurs into it

But Spurs aren't going down in any possible scenario. They have far too many good players and forwards in particular for that to happen. It's far more important that the teams below us lose. We have won two on the trot but we could easily have a bad run of form and it's clearly in our interests that the team finishing 18th has as low a points tally as possible.

Quitting is much more damning than getting sacked. Then again I don’t particularly care as we would have had zero points from our last three league matches with Dyche in charge, so win-win

The previous manager took us as far as he could. That tells you everything.

I’m so pleased he’s here and I can start to enjoy Everton again. Dyche and his “football” were just torture, although for his first 18 months we should be grateful.

It’s only a start and I’m careful not to get too carried away by the new manager bounce but even just seeing him in the dugout makes me a lot calmer and positive.
