2024/25 David Moyes

Depends on the scale of the betrayal. In this case it's a pretty big one. To think that HK could've gone to his grave as an outsider to the club and treated like šŸ’© is beyond compression in terms of scale of betrayal.

He could apologise to the family of Kendall and say he was wrong to marginalise him and that he hopes they can forgive him.
I donā€™t recall Howard, at least publicly, sharing the same animosity you feel towards Moyes.

It's not really like for like though based on this season. How many goals did Everton score from open play in the last year or two?

Dyche did a superb job during the first 18 months of his tenure given the circumstances. The signs were there though towards the end of last season after securing Everton's premiership status they played exactly the same turgid football in games that were effectively free hits.

I was so disappointed that Dyche effectively lacked the coaching ability and skill to play even slightly more progressive football this season apart from the first 80 minutes against Bournemouth (which were excellent yet ironically his poor game management lost the game). I thought he was fully capable of producing what Moyes has done in the previous three games yet sadly, he simply wasn't up to it.

The football and results were woeful this season.
3 wins in 19 games.
Moyes rolls in with 2 wins in 3 games and arguably deserved a draw in a competition match against Aston Villa.

If you haven't seen the difference in the team pressing higher, developing more progressive patterns of play and crucially creating chances during the past 3 games (particularly the first two games] with the previous 19 games this season with the same players, then I suggest you visit specsavers my good friend.

Jake O'Brien not starting a league game under Dyche was shocking in itself.

His time at Burnley showed he could roll the dice a bit more than he did here. They played two up at Burnley and I never found them as dull as Dyche's teams this season at least. The responsibility of keeping Everton up is greater than keeping Burnley up, so that could have weighed on him in the end to make him more conservative this season.

Yes, I agree not playing O'Brien was a poor choice by Dyche. He was obviously a player. I still think though that he's better off out wide rather than the heart of the defence in a two man CD unit...he's not ready for that just yet IMO. Soon though.

He's just latching on to something for ammunition now he's taken his contrarian stance.

To be honest, using legacy and reputation of a man who is no longer around as a stick to beat Moyes with, purely to antagonise fans, is shameful.

Shame on you @davek

I'm not sure what that proves other than Kendall was a bigger man than Moyes.

Off topic, but:
At my last job in PerĆŗ the foreigners I worked with were mostly English. One of my closest coworkers there was a woman from Brighton who left the UK in about 2005 or so. She didn't really care much about football, and her one comment about it to me was "Even after a few years of it, it is so strange to me to see them in the Premier League; when I was growing up there, they literally played in the park where I did my school athletics meets - not like there was a stadium there for them or anything, but in the actual park itself." That's always stuck with me.
I went to it a few years before they moved. Utterly bizarre place. Literally a running track with a bit of scaffolding around.

I'm not sure what that proves other than Kendall was a bigger man than Moyes.
Perhaps they discussed things in private and it ended up amicably?

But even assuming they didnā€™t and it is as you state just the case of Kendal being the bigger man then arenā€™t you being the disrespectful one now to Kendallā€™s wishes to move on? If he can be the bigger man why not you who didnā€™t even suffer the ā€œbetrayalā€.

I agree about his time at Burnley but why didn't he trust one of the best goalkepers and centre back pairings in the league and change formation to 442 with Ndaiye and DCL/Beto upfront and hard working wide players that cross the ball or even a hybrid 3 at the back that Moyes played in previous two games?

He kept playing 4231 without fail.

As mentioned I'm disappointed he didn't make it work as I thought he could have done what Moyes has in the previous three games. Yet sadly based on this season be kind of lost the plot in my view.

I'm shocked, shocked at davek making poorly researched insincere statements

Just went off the big in terms of gambling more.

He felt there was a way though by being defensively tight. He'd have probably kept us up just, but I expect Moyes to get the job done quicker.

Not in me.
