2024/25 David Moyes

Sack him now!

I dont believe he believes that simply for the reason that he has eyeballs. I know that because Ive seen them.

In his defense id like to suggest he views Doucoure as having been a servant to the club, his time here is coming to an end, and hes going to say nice things about him as a parting gift. No sense in eviscerating him just before he leaves the club. If thats not the case I have no defense.

I agree….the option of the years extension was reportedly not taken up, so nice words, but the actions don’t match.

So he's admitted we're safe, Ndiaye is ready to start, and Alcaraz is still a few starts away from us needing to buy him. You're probably not going to get better for £15m.

Is there really any need to be playing Doucoure now? You're willingly playing a better player out of position if you start with him (Ndiaye, wide left, or leaving a better player on the bench in Alcaraz), and that helps nobody.

How can Alcaraz be fairly judged unless he starts at least several games in his most effective position?

The Doucoure thing has really got to come to an end now. I don't even know how I'll react if I find out they put an extended contract on the table for him.

We've gone back to not being able to win games again, and surprise surprise it's Doucoure at the heart of the field that's killing us.

I think we’re trying to avoid the obligation to buy to try and improve the terms. Risky if we actually want him but I suppose we don’t know the details, we’ll probably try and defer the payments.

I'm not sure he would have relegated us, but, he would have certainly kept us in the relegation mix. One thing is for sure though, he would have sucked every last bit of enjoyment out of our final couple of months at Goodison.

I’m just hoping the reference to preseason means he’s got some wingers eyed up for the summer that will give him the luxury of moving Iliman inside once they come in. We’ll know what he really means If Doucs is given a new contract.
