2024/25 David Moyes

It was always going to be like this when we appointed him, it’s why I didn’t think it was a good idea despite thinking he’s a very good manager. Opinions on him are already formed, we can’t have a fresh start with him because there’s too much baggage already in place.

People are going to be divided on many manager, history tells us that, its inevitable, particularly as time passes, you get a timeframe before contempt creeps in.

Mate stop with the 20 years ridiculousness, you were wrong move on, you don't have to try this hard - everyone on here know he was here for 11 years, up to 2013, its just silly.

Essentially your non sensical argument here is - in the last five years Moyes took WHU from relegation fodder to Europe, to a Cup Finals, to a European Trophy - through bad recruitment.

It’s not a logical argument. If he achieves that here with similar "bad recruitment" I’ll be a happy man.
Oh so did he just buy players at Everton in his last few years ??? He didn’t buy or sell anyone from 2002 to 2010????
See the bit where I say 15/20yrs, you will find that covers that period

Yes we’d all love to get back into Europe and win a trophy. This conference trophy is a bit of a joke though, Chelsea can’t even be that bothered and will walk it, probably be dropped soon

What I don’t want is him to walk away in 4 yrs, with half his expensive signings( like the ones I mentioned above at West Ham) being out on loan and we being back in the 💩

The 20 years thing is silly at this stage mate. I'm not entertaining it - people know on here.

Have you looked at the fundamentals of WHU as a business before and after Moyes - they are a lot stronger. At this very moment they are a bigger business then us. I said they would live to regret sacking Moyes and would regress after he left last summer and guess what that's exactly what happened.

Are you very young and not lived through Moyes before mate, not commenting or judging on that, but this is a trodden path we've been down before in wonderful recruitment, that's lifted all boats at this club, it made the club a lot of money - we were on a downward trajectory within 12 months of his leaving and have been since.

Again your argument is non sensical when it comes to WHU i repeat you are asserting he has had bad recruitment, yet took them from relegation fodder, to Europe to a Cup Final, to A European Trophy in five years - that's not bad recruitment - if it is ill have some.

I had a nose around a few West Ham fan sites yesterday evening. I don't get the impression they think he just signed expensive muck. By and large he brought well, with a couple of glaring fails. Scamacca and Vlasic, being the notable expensive ones. Probably a few on here who were hacked off we sold Vlasic in fairness.

Sounds like his transfer dealings here. Some corkers and a few duds. Beattie, Kroldrup, Shandy, Davies etc. If anything some were just meh signings like Bilyetdinov and Andy Johnson overall. In the sense they could produce but arguably we expected more.

Glad it wasn’t just the new stadium he avoided before deciding we weren’t going to be relegated, was his Hollywood debut on Welcome to Wrexham too.

He’s got us competing a bit more and like I said about the striker. The smart things are happening behind the scenes with recruitment etc, if he starts shifting blame we know he’s cooked.

We lost but we should have not been beaten there. Everyone needs to remember how big this summer is. Not this last 6 games or so, with the hope that half of these players won’t be here next year.

Stop playing Abdoulaye Doucoure and expecting us to be able to string attacking moves together.
I like to see it as him trying to prove a point to the new owners like "I kept us up without breaking a sweat despite having to field players like Abdoulaye Doucoure and Jack Harrison", even though I know that's completely not what it is and am terribly disappointed that he's somehow in love with Doucoure.

I have myself mate - its very polarised, like on here.

Their issue isnt so much on recruitment - but the West Ham way thing. Some on there would rather die playing Potter ball, then get into Europe with Moyes. The other half are really grateful to him and revere him.

Problems with recruitment during his time don't seem to have been an issue, not surprising given the success they have - people forget how bad WHU were before he got there, even we could always rely on them to be below us.

They've spent a lot money since he left and made things worse, i think they could be in real trouble next year.

How is it silly
If you’re going to mention the guys net spend, then it cover the whole period he was here and his buying and selling. I
Said 15/20yrs and you’ve got your knickers in a twist. 15yrs ago was only 3 yrs before he left. I’m not taking about how well he done I was pointing out , what he did at Everton was a long time ago and things have changed. And as fans we can only go of his last job.

Europe, winning a trophy, all positives
Some of the players he bought and the fees
A big negative

Yeah, its rare a fanbase is ever 100% happy or unified.

All grist for the GOT mill. I think Moyes' return is wonderful. I mean, look at @davek. He's delighted. Utterly in his element.

Forza Moyes!
