Because we actually listened to a DoF for once. He recognised Unsworth as an utter baboon in coaching terms.

Utterly embarrassing the club dressed it up as 'pursuing ambitions elsewhere.'

He has struggled badly at Oldham. Oldham fans are on his back now.

….I’ll never forget Southampton away.

Like Ferguson, he was in a comfort zone with a cushy well paid job at Everton. You can only wonder why he left but I doubt the club will be any weaker for the loss.

The reality is, he put his own personally gain ahead of the club and the youngsters.

That’s both a failure of him and the board really. Instead of nurturing the players, and developing them, he went for glory and neglected our entire DNA.

No one remembers u23 wins, but seems that we loved that. He played a style which suited himself which meant players who are littered across the football league now like Anthonee Robinson, Kieran Dowell etc never stood a chance once they got near the first team as they never knew the set up.

Oldham have been ran terribly for a long time and Unsworth will be another of a long line of coaches there. Like brushing your teeth whilst taking a dump.

A tough gig for Unsworth, the days of bouncing straight back into the League have long gone . Scunthorpe who were relegated with them are now the only team below Oldham, says it all , both were poorly run in the recent past. I watched them on Tv last month getting beaten by Wrexham , they were poor . It’ll take time to turn Oldham around, it’s difficult to see them giving it to Unsworth, and getting sacked from a club at the bottom of the National League is not great to have on your CV.
