You can enquire if someone wants to interview for a job and them reject them.

I find it hard to believe anyone stay at BHA if they are offered a job at Everton. That sounds too fantasticalk to be true.

So, what did he say exactly?

Brighton are a well run club Dave. Ashworth is well respected.

Objectively I'd rather work under him, than Moshiri, Kenwright and DBB.

I hate to say it, but I cant imagine many serious people have much respect for them 3 in football.

He'd have been working with the coaching team not that shower of grotesques.

It depends on what job he was offered of course. I believe , given the timing , that Brands offered him “ a job”. When Brands left it’s not hard to imagine that something changed to the job he was originally offered leaving it less attractive to him . Or we now didn’t want him .
Its been over two weeks now since the first “ he’s not coming “tweets emerged, and the Athletic where nowhere near it then. Maybe a slow news day between Christmas and New Year when no reporter can be arsed doing too much ferreting about for a decent story ….

I thought he was going to be a loan manager from the lads on loan?

I mean I dont know what's happened. Personally though, I can see why people run a mile from the 3 idiots now running the show.
Looks like a playing side role rather than boardroom level.

An appointment like that would have undermined the sweep clean tone we have going.

That sounds logical.

I couldn't envisage a situation where Benitez would stand by as someone offered him a job at the club. It runs counter to the streamlining he's encouraging.

Do you see a clean sweep happening?

All I see is power consolidation for all the muppets who have been here. DBB, Kenwright and Moshiri now have more power.
The playing side of the club has seen some casualties, yes. Brands and his assistants, club doctor, James and it looks like Digne. He's getting stuck in.

He obvioulsy has no control over who sits in the boardroom.

From the sounds of it we didnt create a role and then encouraged applicants. We sounded him out for the role he is currently doing for Brighton to come and do it for us. Then he rejected it.

Proof will be in the pudding when we appoint another applicant for the role instead.

That's the bit that needs sorting.

I hate being negative, but honestly mate, we will get nowhere with those 3 at the helm.

When we do the double on Brighton - what have we missed?

They play lovely Tippy Tappy football & on most occasions forget to score....

Our side has been injury ravaged with a weak squad ..... with 1/2 a billion spent blame Mosheri & the position of DOF ......

That is the reason Davie Weir hasn’t come to Everton, the power struggle is on going, if Weir had come to Everton the muppets would have lost more control.

Mr. Benitez should have got more backing from the owner who seems to be letting the manager do his dirty work while saying nothing.

Question is: who offered it to him? Brands is suggested above.
