2017/18 - Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Striker are judge by the number of goals he convert from the chances he had. I don't see us creating a lot of chances for him so far. Apart from goals, he had done decent job. he needs more maturity to get into goal scoring position and align his run to have an easier goal scoring...

Every manager we have had since he has been here has picked him to start. He must be excellent in training.

He comes across as an intelligent lad, must put the work in so every manager picks him.

Carlo must take a lot of praise because he is making DCL do the majority of his work in the 18 yard box, making him to be a bit more selfish in his efforts and its paying dividends.

Long may it continue. He had scraps to work on after we came back from lockdown but the whole team was dire. Now, we look a different team and with James pulling the strings he will get chances.

I'll be honest. While I always thought the lad had a chance to come good, I didn't think I'd see the day when he'd bag 8 goals in 5 games. I'm not sure many did really. Long may it continue though.

...really good point about the Ancelotti affect, @Moomin. I’m absolutely certain DCL is reaping the benefit of following his Managers instruction to “play more central” and sit on the shoulder of the last defender.

It's almost like a player's development can be slow and full of bumps and demanding that 21 year olds get sold to a championship club is kneejerkism and potentially bad for the long term health of the club

I admit to many a sin regarding DCL, I'm frankly ashamed and just so grateful I hang about on a forum and not making actual decisions at our great club.
