Whilst I haven’t formally committed to a scheme such as this, I have discussed this with my wife and children so they are aware of my long term intentions.
The way I look at is is… if medical science can benefit in anyway from my remains, that’s absolutely fine by me.

It’s very rare the Uni will choose to accept and do what you ask, you have to have a degree of interest to them.

Costs a fortune, even those where you're buried under a tree are not tree. Maybe leave your corpse on a Scottish mountain for eagles to pick on your bits.

Seems good to me, I haven't made any arrangements (yet) but this is one to consider.

The problem with this is the waiting time for the family. My missus grandfather wanted to do it and then the family scrapped it when they learned they wouldn't get the body back for two years.

Depends, could be as early as six months. That's Liverpool though, don't know if it differs elsewhere.

My feelings exactly, which is why I've done it. Funerals, and the associated palaver are just one big money scam dressed up as caring for the grieving.

Finances / will / trust are all sorted along with lasting power of attorney for finance and medical incase of being incapacitated.

Not sorted funeral arrangements etc as not really arsed but would probably go with cremation.

What’s the score with organ donation these days? Am I right in saying you basically have to opt out now now rather than opt in?
